Peter Klaven is a successful real estate agent, who, upon getting engaged to the woman of his dreams, Zooey, discovers to his dismay that he has no male friend close enough to serve as his best man. Peter immediately embarks on a series of bizarre and awkward 'man-dates' to find such a friend, before meeting Sydney Fife, a fun-loving, charismatic man - just Peter's oppposite - with whom he instantly bonds. But the closer the two men get, the more Peter's relationship with Zooey suffers, ultimately forcing him to choose between his fiancee and his new found 'bro', in a story that comically explores what's at the core of male friendship and what it truly means to be a friend.

I Love "I Love You, Man"

There are by far too many comedies being manufactured these days to satisfy a young generation who deem it amusing if they recognise a low-brow parody.

Thankfully, there exists a small range of actors, writers and directors who still have a sense of what's both amusing as well as entertaining. To name but two of them, Paul Rudd and Jason Segel, the stars of the movie.

The film presents us with the mild-mannered Rudd who has never had any close male friends, and yet is about to be married. So enters Segel, the epitome of the modern laid-back dude, to teach him what it's like to be, essentially, a guy.

The film is hilarious. There is no other word for it. Digging a little deeper, yes, there are certain imperfections in the character development and the way things work between the characters themselves. All of this is merely overshadowed by the acting ability and the number of laughs it contains.

The movie isn't as ridiculous as others in it's category, (such as the awesome "Step Brothers"), but still maintains a basis in the frat-house comedy stylings. The entire film doesn't rely on the two main actors either, (albeit their shining proof of how funny each can be), as they are supported by a cast of sheer delight.

Segel pilfers the plot and steals the show, proving himself to be as funny as any acting counterpart. After watching the piece, you'll want nothing more than to watch it again just for him; or simply seek out other things he's been in!

I thoroughly suggest this film as a perfect couple comedy. It suits boyfriends and girlfriends as well as the two best mates after a laugh. Best of all, you can relate to it, making it all the more humerous!

Best way to put it: a real treat. Simple as.

Paul Rudd plays Peter a real estate agent who after asking his girlfriend to marry him realises he has no male friends no one to be his best man.Peter decides to sort this situation and seeks the advice of his gay brother who sets him up on (man dates) to meet a best friend.
After meeting a string of strange guys (the squeeky Elmo wannabe,a gay guy who falls madly in love with him and his girlfriend best friends husband who he pukes on).Peter seems to think he will never meet the one until an open house throws him and Sydney (Jason Segel) together the two hit it off straight away and soon become a rock to each other. As Peter and Sydney get closer Peter and his girlfriend drift further apart leaving Peter with the toughest decision of his life his girlfriend or his best friend?
A superbly written script full of fantastic comedy moments lots of laugh out loud gags a brilliant supporting cast including J.K Simmons,John Favreau and Thomas Lennon gurantee that I Love You Man will make you laugh along and it really is a great feel good comedy film.
One of the better films i have seen this year and i strongly recomedned this brilliant comedy to anyone.

Saw this film at the cinema and seriously considered walking out half way through. Very few funny bits and finding it hard to remember any laugh out loud moments. Contender for worst film of the year. Buy The Hangover instead.

 Jason Segel is the man

Was looking forward to the movie after seeing trailer.
And for once the actual film was funnier than the trailer.
The story is paper thin but very funny all the way.
Paul Rudd should be in ALL movies.
One of the Best comedies of the Year
