If you love Anime films and are big on Asian movies then you will certainly love this film, full of gory violence and kinetic sword play, and cool sexy vampires. You don't need to have seen the anime version to enjoy this movie. Overall it's just a fun action packed bloodbath, which is why I loved it.

 Give it a chance

I saw some bad reviews on play for this and was in two minds about getting it... if you're expecting blade and aren't familiar with some older kung fu movies or how Asian ciema can be a tad over the top, then you may not appreciate it. Now i don't know the anmie version to compare but If you watch it with an open mind, except what it is with mixed elements of the above and various others, then it's perfectly enjoyable.

Moral of the story is don't watch it on any preconceptions for what you want it to be and it's entertaining.

 Saya rules!!!

I'm a fan of the original anime so I was very interested to see how this live action version would turn out and I'm happy to say that I was suitably impressed.
I'm delighted with how much of the anime is accurately emulated and the overall tone and atmosphere has also been maintained.
'Gianna' captures Saya's character perfectly - she's beautiful and sullen and totally badass! The action scenes are great including newer scenes which aren't in the anime.
The only criticism I have is for the ridiculously bad cgi blood which the film is awash with (it looks like Aero bubbles streaming out of people!) and the even worse rendered cgi demon.
I think Koyuki(Onigen) has been overdubbed too which makes her character sound strange. But overall the movie overcomes these minor shortfalls and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the anime or a blood drenched fantasy martial arts flick!!!

 A great movie!

This is a great movie. I would of preferred the movie to be structured out better but not that bad!
