It's all about women.... and their men!
From the moment she glimpses her idol at the stage door, Eve Horrington (Anne Baxter) moves relentlessly towards her goal: taking the reins of power from the great actress Margo Channing (Bette Davies). The cunning Eve manoeuvres her way into Margo's Broadway role, becomes a sensation and even causes turmoil in the lives of Margo's director boyfriend (Gary Merrill), her playwright (Hugh Marlowe) and his wife (Celeste Holm). Only the cynical drama critic (Oscar® winner George Sanders) sees through Eve, admiring her audacity and perfect pattern of deceit.
Thelma Ritter and Marilyn Monroe co-star in this brilliantly scripted, acclaimed classic, which won six Academy Awards and received the most nominations (fourteen) in film history.

Not much to say about this film apart from I personally believe that it has Bette Davis' most wonderful performance in her whole career. She's just so believeable in her role and plays herself (Well, her character is a celebrity which she sure as hell was!) so naturally as if this film wasn't even being made.
'All About Eve' is just a classic that many people should step away from all of today's $100 Million piles of rubbish and indulge yourself in some fine 50's cinema.
A Delicious Film about Ruthless Ambition

Bette Davis is fabulous in this film in which she utters the often quoted lines: ' Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.' The sickly sweet doormat played by Anne Baxter slowly reveals herself to be a viper who has plotted all along to take the Broadway stars place. Marilyn Monroe makes a very brief but beautiful appearance. I enjoyed every witty, waspish, cynical line and will never tire of watching this film. You really should own a copy.

Timeless, brilliant and completely absorbing. The story is so good it stands the test of time. It's got it all; love, ambition betrayal and revenge. Brilliant...
