- 'Key Scenes And Dialogue - Jean-Luc Godard': exclusive collector's bonus booklet
Jean-Luc Godard expertly directs his then wife, Anna Karina, in one of the seminal movies of the French new wave. As one would expect from Godard, the film is daring and experimental both in its use of sound recording and finished editing and includes a thought-provoking insight into the social conditions and mores prevalent at the times.
Karina plays provincial girl Nana working as a shop assistant who, after separating from her husband, decides to embark on a career as an actress. She watches the silent classic 'The Passion Of Joan Of Arc' and with tears streaming down her face, abandons her ambition and instead drifts into a life of prostitution. The film is presented in twelve tableaux which navigate us through Nana's sad life climaxing with a shocking and poignant finale...
