- Interview with Vincent Friell filmed for DVD Collection, BBC Four
- Notes on Big Country by Bruce Watson
They're bigger than the Loch Ness monster!
Ronnie and Will, two lads from Edinburgh, embark on a non-violent spree of robberies. Dressing up in bizarre costumes the duo act as modern highwaymen, robbing coach loads of tourists in the Highlands; eventually earning them the tag, the Clown and the Wolfman. In the process they become folk heroes to the locals. Their adventures make for a whimsical and gentle comedy, in the Bill Forsyth vein.

Originally hired on VHS by My Mum, while confined to my bed with a serious injury. I have watched this film hundreds of times and it is still excellent. It contains some of the best humour of all time , the soundtrack from Big Country carries well with the action of the film. The cast are fault less and as a southener the accent and delivery of some great lines have stayed with me. "The clown and wolfman one last time to strathholt " The miss adventure of 2 young men turned into folk heroes..... British comedy at is best.Buy this film and watch it for ever. it stands the test of time.

Two young men in dead end jobs become modern day highwaymen sticking up tourist coaches while disguised as a clown and a wolfman. Perfectly written and acted with a stirring Big Country soundtrack. A pristine transfer that really shows the beauty of the countryside
Great sound track, fun film

The soundtrack (Big Country) really makes this different film about two bored young lads who start robbing tourist coaches only to become folk heroes. Good cast, characters you can warm to, (only one character really grates) and it's almost an 80s version of those Ealing films.
