This is a superb British comedy film. Based on TV comedy hit 'The Thick of It' this film combines the commendable political UK comedy with US politics, for a wider audience and subject matter (and it is excellent). It is witty, intelligent, satirical, aggressive (lots of swearing), thoroughly enjoyable and funny.

The whole story revolves around government ministers discussing the possibility of future 'war' and from this it quickly arrives at the US invading, for no reason other than confusion and organisational chaos.

The characters are tongue in cheek, animated but extremely likeable and inflated versions of the expected truth. There are verbal battles, power struggles and comical chaotic politics.

The film stars the actors of The Thick of It such as Peter Capaldi and Chris Addison, and adds Soprano's James Gandolfini, and Mimi Kennedy. It is very Armando Iannuci in it's smart-arse comedic tone, and also cameo stars Steve Coogan.

  Political Satire at its best

Just another week in politics, just another minor event which causes mayhem for diplomacy. In the Loop is the movie which has came from such shows as "In The Thick Of It" and in the very same style of "The Office".
The style makes you feel like you're apart of it, the fast paced and lie filled world, you become a part of the spin and all the crazy mayhem which takes place in the political world.
The comedy is thick and hard, it's vulgar and dark but hilariously funny. The lines are at times digusting but they're absolutely sider busting hilarious and will have you on the floor laughing.

Overall: In The Loop is just a top notch comedy movie. It's satire at its finest, it's witty and sarcastic with just a thick helping of the truth.

Really enjoyed the Sharp banter and even Cruder Insults.
The Acting was Flawless. The Script was the True Star.
This will not be to everyones taste.

What a film. This political satire filmed almost like a 'fly on the wall' documentary gave me laughter, cringeworthy feelings and gripped by its perfect pace.

Watch as the central abuse dummy, Simon Foster is bombard from the swear word cannon that blows off at every opportunity, Malcolm Tucker looms over his every awkward slip up, from the press to inside the White House.

A guaranteed intelligent laugh that should be watched by anyone interested in films that are well directed, scripted and casted making 'In The Loop' a comedy masterpiece.

No, it's going to be difficult-difficult-lemon-difficult.

Being a ex Civil Servant for a Central UK Government department, I can honestly say that In The Loop is an accurate representation of the world of Politics. OK, the Director of Communications is not as foul mouthed as Malcolm Tucker, but all the scheming and double backing stabbing, 'off the record chit-chatting' are . The golden rule in Government is this: It's not what you know, it's who you know.

But I digress. In The Loop is a superbly written satirical look at the world of politics. The plot is extremely clever and at times it seems a little bit too real that it could be based on real life events. All the actors and actresses are superb. This movie is not for the faint of hearts though. There is a lot of strong swearing, lots of use of the f-word and c-word that I lost count.

In The Loop is a spin-off of the award winning TV series 'The Thick of It' and if you liked that and the Yes Minister series, you will love this movie.

The DVD contains the usual extras: Director and cast commentary/interviews, deleted scenes etc. It's only in English with English Description.
