If you have read the books, don't watch this film.
Very dissapointed after reading the books.

If you have not read books, go for it.

I really enjoyed The Vampires Assistant, after being put off by bad reviews, I thought I'd buy since it was a fiver, finally when I had time to watch it, I didn't seem too disappointed, but slightly disappointed, I expected better, but still good and solid.

Completely pants! Wasted nearly 2 hours of my life watching this film, would advise you not to. Kept waiting for the exciting or interesting part but it never came.

  nothing like the books

i was a huge fan of the books but the film doesnt take anything from them. It s trying to strike a balance between making the films family friendly whilst following the books which were pretty gruesome for most of the time and it fails to do either. Alrite film for people who never read the books but if you have, dont watch it, massive disappointment

The film is odd, the film is very dark in tone. It does however work. The acting is very good and the film moves along at a good pace. The younger audience members at times got a little nervous as some scenes push the 12 certificate to the boundries. The film also is not suitable for anyone below that age.

The film is not a family friendly affair and does need to be watched to be followed, but it is rewarding and a good watch.

  Mostly disappointing

The movie was very different to the book in a bad way. I don't think the actors were suited to the roles. but a good film for the viewers who hasn't read the book. Some of the special effects were quite good ie the "flitting scenes" but not really worthy of a second viewing.

It is surreal to see John C. Reilly [Crepsley] playing a serious character, and he plays it marvellously, and so does the rest of the actors but i won't bore you for too long. As far as the 'Book to Film Accuracy' goes i can't really comment because I haven't read all of the books but i can say that it's not the best rendition because i think the books are much darker but don't let this put you off. This film is just a joy to watch even if you haven't read the books. It has everything: Action, Humour, Romance but i won't spoil it for you. I would recommend 'The Vampires Assistant' to anyone who is a fan of the books or is just a fan of awesome Vampire stories. =] Enjoy!
