Is is better to watch this movie once or twice? I say, is it too much to see it five times?

Saw it once, loved it. Saw it twice, wanted more. Saw it thrice, wanted even more. Then got to 5 times. I have a simple phylosophy as a Movie goer/critic/reviewer; if a good Movie is worth watching once, then it is worth watching multiple times.

Iron Man was the first live-action feature film under Mavrel's own Movie studio brand. And it has to be said; if Marvel had made the Spider-Man, X-Men and the first Hulk movies with this kind of writing; then chances are they would have been better.

Since Marvel know how to do their characters best for the silver screen, it was only natural that they would be superior to those who tried before. True, those that did Spider-Man like Sam Raimi and Tim Story that directed Both Fantastic Four Movies put their own stamp on it as they were fans of the comic growing up, and although they were good; you couldn't help but thinkin that there was something missing.

With Iron Man; no such thing. Robert Downey Jnr was perfect as Tony Stark; for starters he looked like what Stark would look like if he were real and he had the wit and sense of humor.

As for the Suit...I've seen a few variations of the generations of the Iron Man suit down the years and this one is the best by far to date.
If anything; the movie makers took all the best features of the suit from when the Red & Gold suit first appeared in the 60's to the celebrated 90's animated series.

I felt the ending was a little weaker than the rest of the movie, but it was still a good end to a Grand silver screen debut which I have no doubt that will be rewatched and talked about for years to come.

The DVD steelbook edition, exclusive to play.com, is a nice feature for the DVD release. Mind you, I did predict that Marvel would do this, a movie about a metal-super hero in a metal case. Predictable, but pleased all the same.

Bring on Iron Man 2. Which I hope will be entitled 'Iron Man 2: the rise of the Mandarin.'

 A Comic Book Classic

Seriously one of the best comic book movies ever made, amazing action, a well written and even well acted movie, Robert Downey Junior is absolutely fantastic. One of the best movies of 2008, must buy.

I saw this movie on a flight to the usa last september (2008) & can assure you i am a collector of dvd's of all ranges & age (i myself am ancient & a film buff) to describe this film in one word would not do it justice so! An a+ for every word hence-brilliant-awsome-has pace-continuity-comedy-excitement & a twist in it's tail oh! I missed one or two-drama & thriller, so in one word a rollercoaster of adventure. So i'll sign off & hope my rhetoric wasn't boring.

Iron Man really does have heart...

Though the likes of Superman, Batman Begins and Spider-Man did very well, generally comic books have always told origin stories so much better than how movies can. And then there's Iron Man. Excellently directed by Jon Favreau, who has done justice to it's comic book roots, including having Robert Downey Jr playing lead Tony Stark/Iron Man...a piece of inspired casting.
The first hour of this film is superb, and very well told. The introduction to Tony Starks character is perfect, everything just flows when he's on screen, and he's on screen a lot. The reasons how and why he becomes Iron Man, his friends and enemies, the way you like him or don't, the one liners, the girls and cars are all delivered with care that doesn't treat anyone like a idiot. The way he manufactures his suit, the not-so-subtle changes he makes (colour), and the view from inside, are all treated with wonderful detail.
However, it only gets a little disappointing as the film goes into it's climax. The big one-on-one finale could have been longer, (as it's the most we see of Iron Man), it kind of just happens, then goes, with little emotion and over technical moments. That said, Iron Man is a very good, well acted and directed film with some of the best CG used these days.
Marvel got a lot of things right with this film. One was to let you know that Iron Man is not the only superhero who exists in this world. Look out for the references to other, greater 'projects'. Other things they got right are money, time, director/actors, and how to treat the fans. Oh and one more - they got it out well before The Dark Knight.

I already kinda wrote a review for tis film before but its kinda got deleted or something, so im writing it again *sob*, it could be kinda a good thing I spose as I missed out a few bits so ill start over by saying.........MY GOD, HOW FANTASTIC IS THIS FILM!!!!!!!!
Soz for that outburst but I think it was needed, lol!! This film kicked off the summer blockbusters back at the start of May with a BANG.......and what a BANG! Then the summer of Marval began!
I must admit when I first went to see it back on 9th May, I was kinda like 'we're goin to see Iron Man, ok'....dont get me wrong I wanted to see it but I wasnt overly excited about it.......How blown away by this film was I !! I LOVE and ADORE ROBERT DOWNEY JR, he is such a FAB actor (my fave in fact) and he is superb as Iron Man, i agree, u cant see anyone else playing it, inspired casting! and bout time Rob got his big break!
Robert plays Tony Stark, a billionaire weapons manufacturer (for anyone who doesnt know, lol) who is conflicted about his work after he is captured by terrorists. He has to escape so he builds his first Iron Man suit, from there on the story continues!
Iron Man is full of the right amount of action, adventure, romance and even a bit of politics thrown in! not to mention humour, HILARIOUS HUMOUR! I esp like the funny and quirky relationship Tony has with his robots! The one who keeps wanted to spray him with foam me and my friends named 'Jerky', lol! Plus all the superhero action is so cool, the best part has to be when Tony suits up for the first time in the Mark 3 of his suit........AMAZING!!! Has to be one of my fave scenes! Not to mention when he is flying through the air, 'im driving with the top down!', LOVE IT!! and being an Audi fan, I have to say, YAY for all the Audi's in this film, esp the fab R8!! Love its soundtrack! The Iron Man soundtrack is fab too, hehe!
I have to just go back to talking bout Robert for a sec, I mean, MY LORDIE, well done working on those muscles Rob, I needed a fan for most of the film, *huminar huminar* they certainly had the desired affect! There is also plenty of eye candy for the men too, in the shape of the delightful and charming Gwyneth Paltrow, who is also FAB in this film as Tony's assistant, Virginia 'Pepper' Pots! Love the name!
The rest of the cast is well put together and I cant wait till it comes out on dvd, whenever that will be, been waiting so long now for a date to emerge!
Im also very excited to hear that Iron Man has been kind of the start of a new franchise of films to emerge in the coming years, all linked to the comic books of Marval! Im lovin the buzz around this, I cant wait! For anyone who waited right till the end of the credits of Iron Man, would of seen a little hidden scene which links to the upcoming Avengers movie, not to mention for those of you who have seen the last scene of the recent Incredible Hulk film, where Tony Stark appears and says to the general, 'we're working on something'......IM SO EXCITED!!
Well, till then we know there will be an Iron Man 2, so cant wait for that!!
Robert Downey Jr, what a fantastic actor, I love him!! He is my fave actor of all time, fab in everything and this film is no acception!! Not just that, but Iron Man is now one of my fave films of all time too!!
When this dvd comes out, everyone buy it, you know u want too! I saw this film 3 times in the cinema (I would of gone more but couldnt) and thats not gonna stop me watching the dvd like a billion times, hehe! I actually went to see The Incredible Hulk, for my second time, on the same day as the last of my Iron Man days and me and my pal called it our MMM, 'Marval Movie Marathon'! hehe! We're such dorks!
