Jurassic Park (Dir. Steven Spielberg, 1993): Director Steven Spielberg presents a masterpiece of imagination, suspense, science and cinematic magic that quickly became one the most successful film in worldwide box-office history. On a remote island, a wealthy entrepreneur (Richard Attenborough) secretly creates a theme park featuring live dinosaurs drawn from prehistoric D.N.A. Before opening it to the public, he invites a top palaeontologist (Sam Neill) and his paleobotanist girl friend (Laura Dern), a renowned mathematician (Jeff Goldblum), and his two eager grandchildren to experience the park - and help calm anxious investors. But their visit is anything but tranquil as the prehistoric predators break out and begin stalking the island's human inhabitants. Based on Michael Crichton's best-selling novel, Jurassic Park is a breathtaking adventure you'll want to experience again and again...

The Lost World (Dir. Steven Spielberg, 1997): Director Steven Spielberg takes us back to the scene of Jurassic Park in The Lost World, the blockbuster sequel with even more dinosaurs, more action and more breathtaking visual effects than its record-breaking predecessor. This DVD edition contains exclusive interviews and rare behind-the-scenes footage. The Lost World remains among the most successful films of all time and features an all-star cast including Jeff Goldblum, Julianne Moore and Pete Postlethwaite. It has been four years since the disaster at Jurassic Park and two groups are in a race against time that will determine the fate of the remote island's prehistoric inhabitants.

Jurassic Park 3 (Dir. Joe Johnston, 2001): Adventure runs wild when renowned palaeontologist Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) agrees to accompany a wealthy adventurer (William H. Macy) and his wife (Tea Leoni) on an aerial tour of Isla Sorna, InGen's former breeding ground for prehistoric creatures. But when they're terrifyingly stranded, Dr. Grant discovers that his hosts are not what they seem, and the island's native inhabitants are smarter, faster and fiercer than he ever imagined in this heart-stomping thriller.

This might be yet another release of the trilogy again but this time the steel tin release adds something extra to other releases.
I had the trilogy in the cardboard edition a few years back and found that it soon got tatty with shelf wear where as this edition dosent have that problem and looks a lot smarter on the shelf.
You get the same 4 discs in this steel tin release as you did in the cardboard edition.
This is the set to buy as the steel tin is great and of course the films are brilliant the first film being the best followed by the third release and The Lost World being the weak link of the trilogy.
Well worth buying until of course we get a Blu-Ray edition of these great films.

 Here we go again

If it wasn't for the fact hat there re-releasing all three films.....AGAIN, I would snap this up and give it 4 stars but I will probably end getting this steel book version, but it won't be this side 2009 that's for sure. The films are good, well, 1 and 3 are. The lost world or Jurassic park 2 is by far the worst film out of the three, it feels like two films put together. I was 11 when the first one came out and it was only the third film i whent to the cinema to see (hunt round the site if you want to know what the first two were) and it was the first and so far only film I've gone to see where the audiance stood up and cheered at the end (This must be what Amercan cinemas are like). It has a place in my memory for all the right reasons. It's a good film with special effects that stand up (just) today. This stelbook version is worth it. Problem is, even if JP4 does'nt come out for another 20 years, this will not be the last time you see these films on the coming soon list.

I'm gonna ignore the fact that this is the millionth time they've brought out a box set for this because they've finally settled on a decent cover - made of steel, how epic is that!

Thers no point in reviewing these films 1 by 1 because I would give them all a 5 star rating, yes I know I'm the minority here because I love ALL the films, but lets face it, they are ALL excellent films! I for one don't just idolise the first film like what seems to be EVERYONE else, yes it's a great film, but it isnt the only great Jurassic Park film. I loved how (aside from having dinosaurs in them) they where all vastly different from each other with JP1 being that the dinosaurs escape and tread onto human land and in the 3rd one, its the opposite way round, humans disturb the island.

I love all these films, buy this now!
