When the Towani family crash their Starcruiser onto the planet Endor, the children, Cindel and Mace, are separated from their parents, who have been kidnapped by the evil monster Gorax. Now they must rescue their parents, but first they endeavour to befriend the shy, resourceful Ewoks, whose aid will prove integral to their operation!
After the successful completion of their mission and the recovery of the Towani parents, the group must defend the Ewok community from the invasion of a foreign enemy. Cindel and the Ewok Wicket escape into the forest, where they meet a couple of people who, like them, have been stranded on the forest moon planet after an accident in their star cruiser.

I was a big fan of the both films as a child. Especially Battle for endor, the video i had was totally worn out, unwatchable as i had played it so much.
Its a must buy, totally loveable characters- i always seem to cry when i watch it!

Considering most Star Wars fans hate the Ewoks, its surprising George Lucas agreed to make Caravan of Courage (1984) and Battle For Endor (1985).
Caravan Of Courage appears to borrow heavily from Lord Of The Rings. The biggest problem is that the Ewoks dont speak English so the movie has a narrator attempt to explain the simply story.
Battle For Endor is slighty better mainly due to the inclusion of Wilford Brimley and a new character called Teek. Wicket has also learned to speak English, which is as odd as it sounds.
Be warned, both movies were made for TV so the special effects are very dodgy. Both movies are also far more kid-friendly then the other Star Wars movies.
If your a Star Wars fan and remember these movies fondly from your childhood its worth taking a look but be warned it may spoil the memory.
hate star wars however love the ewoks movies! takes me back to my child hood watching these movies. very rare now although still a childhood classic and favourite.
just to correct the person who said these were made for tv movies, caravan of courage was actually on at the cinema as I went to see it as a kid with my parents! don't know about the second film. and what do you expect from special effects inthe early 80's. good little film for what it is.
