Kathryn Merteuil (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Sebastian Valmont (Ryan Phillippe) are two gorgeous, filthy rich, manipulative step-sibblings from Manhattan's upper east side.
Bored of the girls he has so easily seduced in the past, Sebastian has set his sights on the ultimate challenge - the beautiful, virginal, headmasters' daughter Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon).
Kathryn sees the perfect opportunity for a wager. If Sebastian fails to lure Annette into his bed, he will have to surrender his priceless vintage Jaguar; if he succeeds, he will win the most tempting prize of all - Kathryn.
Sparks fly in this wickedly sexy tale of seduction as Kathryn and Sebastian play a dangerous game of sex and betrayal...

Cruel Inetentions is exactly that. It is a story about a brother and sister who like to seduce others and then toy with them. Meet Sebastian Valmont, he is a young, charming, handsome, and wealthy. His counterpart Kathryn Merteuil, she is beautiful, sexy, and smart. They are two of a kind, both masterminds of their trade. They deceive others and take pleasure in other's pain, joy and pride in their humiliation. But what happens when one of them falls in love with the victim of one of their cruel jokes? Enter Annette Hargrove, talented, attractive, and abstinent. Now they are playing a game of love and hate. So let the games begin. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Reese Witherspoon deliver stellar performances in Cruel Intentions and give the audience reason to laugh and cry.

Before I actually saw this film I got it was another cheap chick flick but I was wrong. It was a great piece of work this movie. Everything from the plot, the acting, the production and everything else is just top notch. I highly recommend this film, it's so good.
The story to this film was a cut above the rest when released in 1999, sure some scenes look a little dated now but the story remains. Excellent use of a Counting Crows song - Colourblind in the final moments of the film. If you haven't seen this, worth a purchase!
