Review

The new series of Doctor Who features Christopher Eccleston as the re-incarnated Doctor and Billie Piper as his trusty sidekick.

Episodes comprise:

1. Rose: When Rose Tyler meets a mysterious stranger called the Doctor, her life will never be the same again. Soon, she realises that her mum, her boyfriend, and the whole of Planet Earth are in danger. The only hope for salvation lies inside a strange blue box...

2. The End Of The World: The Doctor takes Rose on her first voyage through time, to the year Five Billion. The Sun is about to expand, and swallow the Earth. But amongst the alien races gathering to watch on Platform One, a murderer is at work. Who is controlling the mysterious and deadly Spiders?

3. The Unquiet Dead: The Doctor takes Rose back through time to 1869. But in Victorian Cardiff, the dead are walking, and creatures made of gas are on the loose. The time-travellers team up with Charles Dickens to investigate Mr Sneed, the local Undertaker. Can they halt the plans of the ethereal Gelth?

Rose- I still remember how excited I was when I first heard Doctor Who was coming back in 2005. I've seen a few episodes of Doctor Who when I was growing up but ive never been a big fan of it. Anyway back to the point in this episode Rose meets The Doctor and she finds herself helping him save the world.

The End of the world- This is a great episode where you get to see a lot of different aliens and The Last Human Cassandra. You also get to hear abit about why The Doctor is the last TimeLord.

The Unquiet death- In this episode The Doctor and Rose travel back in time to 1869 Cardiff Where the dead are walking and The Doctor meets Charles Dickens. Will Rose and The Doctor save the day??

Over all This is a brilliant DVD that I would recommend to anyone with 3 fantastic episodes with Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor and Billie Piper as his Companion was fantastic.

For me, Dr Who finished with Tom Baker, but Christopher Eccleston brings it back with a bang! Some lovely comic moments in this series allows CE to impose his Doctor on us. Love the way they deal with his Mancunian accent! "If you are an alien how comes you sound like your from the North?" asks Rose - "lots of planets have a North" is the answer.

Good special effects and great imagination from the writers sets the next generation of Doctor Who off to a flying start!
