Dennis (Bennett) and Hal (Holder) are inseparable. They are also irreverent, boisterous, highly sexed and eager to acquire a fortune by the most expedient method...robbery. The only problem is that they have to hide their loot. Fortunately Dennis works as an undertaker, so a conffin seems like the perfect place to hide it. But the moment that they try to fit the loot and a stiff in to a coffin things start to go wrong...and soon the boys have trouble on their hands in the shape of a gold digging nurse and the dreaded Inspector Truscott (Richard Attenborough).
