 Brilliant Collection!

| | See all Brussell's reviews (14)

Theres nothing new i can say bout this collection or the bond films that hasnt already been said in previous reviews, but i would like to say that even though im a connery fan, i think daniel craig has done a great job so far. There may not be so many witty oneliners, but the action sequences in the craig films are the best Iv seen in any of the previous bond films!!!

 1.80 per movie

This is great value at just over 1.80 per movie.....buy now!
Just for information, the original Casino Royal was not an official Bond movie as the rights to the book did not belong to Mr.Broccolli at that time, only when the right;s where obtained years later that it was made into Mr.Craig's first movie.

 classic spy films

These are the original spy films.I have seen each film so many times iv'e lost count!I know everyone says either sean connery or daniel craig is the best bond, but in my opinion it's roger moore. He suited the part of bond perfectly. This boxset will give you hours of entertainment. It's missing quantam of solace, but thats not a bad thing!

A Must-Have for all 007 fans regardless of who played Bond

Who was the best Bond is a matter of opinion and debate which has been going on for decades and will continue for decades more. Each actor brought a unique perspective to Fleming's master agent and although I have my personal favourite(s), I don't believe any 007 fan should miss the opportunity of owning this marvellous collection regardless of who played Bond. As to one being missing as someone remarked, I would respectfully disagree as Never Say Never was simply a remake of Thunderball, with some subtle differences and updating, so really you are not missing much. However, could I suggest Play.com throws in Quantum of Solace as a freebie for those who buy the whole collection so that the collection is truly complete? :)

At the end of the day mr.fleming invented the character not chubby broccoli & co,so his work should be the benchmark that anyone portraying bond should be judged by,i would have thought(in my own humble opinion).
And if you've read the books,i'm sure you'll find that d.c has given it a good go at least.he has created a 21st century bond and made it just a little bit harder for us to predict the situations he will find himself up against based on whatever q issued bond with in the first 15minutes of each film.
I must agree with parts of comments made by others before me and say that after putting up with brosnan's hollow attempt at playing bond we could all do with a change.
But if you are still not convinced that d.c should at least be given a chance, then may i recommend an alternative form of entertainment.
Perhaps groundhog day, will be more up your street.

 good but one film missing

| | See all smiggyreviews's reviews (1)

Any true 007 fan would realise that there is a film missing in this collection. Never say never again with sean connery is not in this collection even though it is not part of the EON series it is still a bond film and should be brought seperately so the collection is complete.

 BEST BOXSET AVAILABLE

All the films are amazing, even what people class as lows of the series, 1979's 'Moonraker' being a good example, are very enjoyable action films. As one reviewer of this boxset said, he didn't think that the Craig film 'Casino Royale' should be part of this- if that's so then he isn't a true 007 fan because after the Brosnans films- the Bond series really needed an injection of the 'Bourne Formula'.

 What I Think

Wonderful boxset, i wouldn't of included the Daniel Craig film casino royal myself. Bond is no longer bond in my opinion, and the recent release of Quantum of Solace disappointed me greatly, it seems more like a Bourne film than a bond. The script write for Daniel Craig has obviously been adapted for his character, there are no witty remarks, no amazing gadgets, and he is not suave enough as he should be played.

All in all, great box set, wonderful presentation but it won't be a collectors.

 OO-heaven..

An excellent collection of all 21 of the bond movies in this the most successful film franchise stretching back to 1962,
these are remastered 2 disc versions with the extras loaded on the 2nd disc and all are presented in 5.1 dolby
don't be fooled by the new artwork & packaging because the discs are exactly the same as the earlier S.E. releases,
still a good buy if your upgrading your single disc collection
