Lilo And Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch

Disney does not have a great reputation when it comes to sequels, nor do sequels that have a change in actor and/or director. I am a huge Lilo and Stitch fan, and was a little worried at first about this film. Daveigh Chase does not voice Lilo in this one, and her performance in the original was spot on flawless. Also neither Chris Sanders nor Dean DeBlois direct this. Luckily I was not the least bit disappointed, and I was even surprised by the movie itself. Disney were never going to top the first Lilo and Stitch film, which is definitely one of their modern classics, but still, they had a darn good try with this. Child actress Dakota Fanning voices Lilo in this one, and although granted, Daveigh is sadly missed, Fanning puts in a superb performance where it's hard to tell the difference between voices. All the loveable characters from the original return to, with Jumba and Pleakley getting more screen time here and more room to develop the sense of humour they bring. Stitch is still cute as ever here too, and the film has a great blend of humour and emotion. A note to parents however, there are some scenes in this movie that might well scare or upset a young child, particularly a strong emotional scene that's so stunningly moving and tragic, it's in competition with the likes of Bambi's mum's and Mufasa's deaths.

All in all, don't put this aside because it's a Disney sequel gone straight to DVD. If you liked the first Lilo and Stitch, you will not be disappointed. Buy it, rent it, keep a box of tissues to one side just in case you have to cry (I did!), and enjoy.

After the letdown of stitch the movie, stitch has a glitch is a fantastic sequel!! the animation is well done and there are no signs of dr hamsterviel or cousans anywhere!! :) the film is shorter than the 1st one but is filled with emotion and excitment. Lilo and stitch 2 is a must for any lilo and stich fan!!
