- A Message For Peace: Making Hotel Rwanda
When the world closed its eyes, he opened his arms.
Ten years ago some of the worst atrocities in the history of mankind took place in the country of Rwanda and in an era of high-speed communication and round the clock news, the events went almost unnoticed by the rest of the world. In only three months, one million people were brutally murdered. In the face of these unspeakable actions, inspired by his love for his family, an ordinary man summons extraordinary courage to save the lives of over a thousand helpless refugees, by granting them shelter in the hotel he manages.

Let me start by saying that Hotel Rwanda is a very powerful film. Its heart wrenching to see how people can treat others. It is also touching to see how one man can have such courage to put himself in danger to help save innocent people. I highly reccomend you watch this and you too will be touched by how powerful this film really is.
A Real Education.

To think this actually happened is CRAZY ! The acting is good and the use of real film footage from the reporters is exellent. I first was made aware of this Movie by a mate who lived in South Africa and he said i should watch this movie. He did warn me to expect to see some graphic scenes ( i thought he was joking ) SILLY ME !
After watching this I also watched a movie that tells the more Human side of this event called " some times in April " and this was Great !
Let Hotel Rwanda open up your eyes

Top 10 DVD Reviewer
By far one of the best films I have ever seen. There is not one single flaw in this movie, in terms of storyline, cinematography or acting. Don Cheadle portrays Paul Rusesabagina beautifully, the most convincing performance by an actor I have ever seen, and he deserved to win Best Actor at the Oscars. The story is powerful beyond belief, giving much, much more than an insight into a hero's tale, who in Don Cheadle's words, 'stood up against the odds', to save those in Rwanda who did NOT want to be part of the atrocious genocide which killed approximately 1,000,000 people in 3 months! The introduction to this film is like no other, showing how much respect the Manager (Don Cheadle) of the Hotel Mille Collines has from some of the highest profiles in the world. The trigger for the genocide is precise, and the rest is history. Drama, love, comedy, action, and most importantly, perseverance in the face of utmost danger to save the innocent, this is recommended to anyone.
