The supernatural thriller is a stand-alone story in the tradition of some of the show's most acclaimed and beloved episodes, and takes the always-complicated relationship between Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) in unexpected directions. Mulder continues his unshakable quest for the truth, and Scully, the passionate, ferociously intelligent physician, remains inextricably tied to Mulder's pursuits.

 ROLL ON X FILES 3

One word i can say about this film F A N T A S T I C.
I saw it the day it came out 1st August and a week after with my brother the quality of the x files has not gone down one bit its still as stronge as ever it deal'e with grown up relationships and a dark slow burning horror story (classic x files) so if your wanting loads of blood and gore your looking in the wrong place.
This is a scary horror thriller and the x files is as good as ever Mulder and Scully are on top form and the story is very shocking right till the very end. Chris Carter has never done a story like this one befor in the series so it's nice and fresh.
I stongly recommend this film to anyone if you havent seen the x files befor,it dosnt mater you will enjoy it anyway but the fans of the show will enjoy it even more . Its one of the best films that i have seen this year do not miss one of the best film events of the year.
F A N T A S T I C ! ! !

 Mulder & Scully Are Back

I've watched the movie twice at the cinema. I'm a big X Files fan and was sad to see the end off the TV series. I was really pleased to hear that there was going to be another movie.

The movie takes place 6 years after the end of the TV series and Mulder & Scully's relationship has changed. Billy Connolly also stars as Father Joe, who has physic visions. He plays a Xcellent and serious performance and gives it it's X Files element. If you never watched the TV series, you've no need to worry as this is a stand alone movie and you do not need knowledge of it to understand whats happening. However if you are a Phile then there are references to the TV series and actors that were in different eps of the show appear in this movie. If you look closely you will spot Chris Carter in a scene. This movie features Mulder & Scully's relationship heavily so if you are a shipper you will be pleased!

The DVD version will be a directors cut so it will be longer then the cinema version and will contain more gore I hear.

Oh don't forget to watch till the end of the ending credits as Chris Carter gives us a little present.

 Director's Cut? Where?

Maybe I'm mising something but this doesn't appear to be a 'director's cut' as advertised. I saw the film in the cinema and the DVD is just the same. Also the packaging states '....full length feature film, plus the directors cut version not seen in cinemas....' leading me to believe there are two versions but on the disc one menu it only gives you the choice of playing the film, not the director's cut.
If there is no director's cut then this is bad marketing on Fox's behalf.
On the BBFC website it states that the film (cinema) running time is 103 mins, the same running time as the DVD main feature.......

I agree that it's great to see them back on the screen. I personally enjoyed the film very much as I'm more keen on the more "realistic" episodes of the X-Files. Even if this movie is criticised, it's just therapautic for an Xphile to see them back! I'd sit in the cinema and watch them play chess for 2 hours if they filmed it.

 great X File move

Being a x file fan i was so excited when i hered that theres was going to be a second x file movie i leeped out of my seat. I wanted to watch it when it came out in the cinema but i was on holiday when it came out and it wasnt in the cinemas for long time very disapointing but a great movie to have in any collection. I would love if they bring back the series
