Meet Jill, the unhinged owner of a small town beauty salon, and enter her dysfunctional world. Pretending that her hospitalised husband is dying, Jill is on a mission to find a man.
She joins the "Lassoo the Moon" Dating Agency, but when her dates don't come up to scratch, she sets her sights on her neighbour Don, a doctor, and develops a very unhealthy obsession about him. Moving in to 'nurse' his terminally ill wife, she is determined to seduce him and bring their marriage to a grinding halt... by any means necessary. So will she get her man in the end?
Created by and starring Julia Davis (Jam), this is, yet another, excellent comedy series from BBC3 - produced by Steve Coogan's company, Baby Cow.

I liked Nighty Night from the first episode, with its dark plot and sick humour. I found parts of the series to be quite simply painfull, with the main character, jill, being awful to a lady suffering from MS. This woman, Cathy also happens to be the most harmless person ever, she couldnt hurt a fly. This why it is almost distressing that Jill tries as hard as possible to steal her husband in the most unsubtle and unfashionable ways. What I love about this series is that you never know just how low jill will sink. It keeps one amused!
Deliciously dark

If you like black comedy, this is for you. If not, then this is one to avoid.
It is very dark, but very well written, and the cast is superb, ecspecially Julia Davies (Who also wrote the series). It pushes the limits in every aspect, but the results are side splitting.
The main character played by Julia Davies (Jill Tyrell) is a nasty piece of work. She will do everything and anything to get her man Don Cole (Angus Deaton) who is married to a wheelchair bound M.S. Sufferer called Cathy.
Ontop of that, Jills husband Terry is in hospital recovering from cancer, but she is constantly lying to him and telling him that its getting worse, she even tells people he's dead and holds a fake funeral for him.
The lines are brilliant, ecspecially in the case of Julia Davies, whose comic timing is perfect, practically everything she says garners a big laugh just because of the way she delivers it.
Watch out for series 2, which pushes the boundaries even further!
