A new case begins, and the setting seems far removed from the ghetto of the first season as the focus moves to the blue-collar environment of the city port. However the Barksdale drug dealing organisation, which was central to the first season, becomes the major sub-plot. To give away anymore of the storyline would be a crime! The Wire truly is one of the greatest shows ever created. Season Two is even better than the first. The characters development is second to none, while the plot is always unpredictable. You can really never know what is going to happen next. For me two things really stand out in this season. Firstly the way certain throw away remarks or events occur, and their significance only becomes apparent episodes later. This show rewards the attentive viewer like no other. Secondly the comedy - Season Two is very, very funny. Sure it is grim and nasty, and some really tragic events occur. But there are also moments of pure comic genius thrown in.Watch The Wire - you will not be disappointed. It is engaging, engrossing and touching, and seriously cannot be missed. Watch it and you will be hooked.
