10 Quid for all three matrix movies is a steal. Die hard fans might want the 10 disc edition for 20 quid but this is good for casual fans of the trilogy.
I have to say of all sci-fi movies out there, The Matrix Trilogy is definitely one of my favourties.
The first Matrix film is without a doubt a very entertaining sci-fi flick with some great kung-fu action sequences, and features some good supporting performances from Hugo Weaving as the deadly Smith, and Joe Pantoliano as Cypher. The second film Matrix Reloaded isn't in the same league but in a way it feels better paced, despite the awful Zion rave sequence, it has a lot going for it with some great action scenes and a rather bizzare climax. The third film Martix Revolutions also has alot going for it, with the action kicking off straight away, and the big battle scenes proving to be very intense and exciting to watch, even though the ending is pretty confusing it definitely gives you something to think about!
The only small snag I have with the trilogy is that the main characters, Neo, Trinity and Morpheous are all rather serious and pretentious but it also features a world interesting and amusing supporting characters that make up for that. On the quality front, the DVD transfers and sound for all 3 films are superb and it really highlights the quality of DVD, next to High-Def, DVD has still got alot going for it.
So for 8 pounds The Matrix Trilogy is an absolute bargain. Buy it!
This is an amazing film. I admit the first was tricky to get grips of but once you understand the concept of the matrix and what its all about DAMM. The second one was proberly my favourite but thats just personal opinion. Buy this trilogy and broaden your mind to what could be the next religion!!!!!
This is amazing do not dispair wondering if the price is going to drop. (Unless your waiting for the blu ray version)
The Matrix released in 1999, was one of the most cinematic iconic films of that century, it's special effects were incredible, it's storyline was unique, it's editing and whole way of making the film was spectacular, the acting was great and the action sequences were outstanding... this film has had pieces taken out of it and used in lots of films over the last 8 years, mainly the use of slow motion and has still managed to wow audiences who have only just discovered it. But this is the only good film is a truly awful trilogy... The other two films were quickly made to get some extra cash, and were poorly acted, had lame action sequences and poor storylines and there was no need for them... my advice the first one is great watch it, but only watch the next two if your incredibly bored one afternoon.
First of all, I would like to just have a moment to ponder on all of the people that think the 2nd and 3rd Matrix movies are poor... Is it simply because you loved the first one so much, and the fact it might not have a Brady Bunch ending sway you into denial that they are infact, some of the best put together films of all time?
Maybe.
Either way, I won't ruin any of the story for anyone, but it's a pretty emotional ride in my opinion.
I am not in the mood to write a 3000 word essay, so I shalln't list another good feature of this movie, so I figure I'll mention the only poor thing I can think about in the whole 6 hours (or there abouts) of viewing time.
In the Matrix Reloaded, when Neo participates in the first big fight scene in Reloaded, the fight is great, and the moves are pretty good, but some of the sound effects just wake you up from the experience making you see the errors in camera angles when using CGI (the camera gets too close IMO) and it ends up looking like an average video game fight. But seriously, that's the only bad thing I can draw from this.
I think it's perfect, and I call myself a perfectionist.
