Saving the world from witches is a tall order for a boy they've turned into a mouse!

Luke, a young boy recently orphaned, is brought to England by his grandmother. At a hotel in which they are staying, a group of witches have gathered to prepare a plot to rid the world of all children!

Delightfully subversive family fantasy-comedy (expect nothing less from director Nicolas Roeg) based on the classic children's book by Roald Dahl.

 The film everyone should have!

This is such a funny film, Rowan aikinson as the Hotel Manager is hilarious, Angelica Housten is the grand high witch and is so convincing but i mean that in a nice way! The story is about a boy who finds out that the witches want to rid the entire population of children and what he has to go through to stop this. It is the kind of film that the whole family can watch and will appeal to all ages even teenagers! The film is well cast with all the characters, even the unknowns. Brilliant story line, great effects and lots of gags, order this today!

 Love It!

When I watched this as a child, it actually did really scare me. It's really dark for a children's film. I guess a few of Roald Dahl's books are like that. ('Matilida' screams child abuse). But I love, love, love it and I still watch it now! Angelica Houston is perfection as the Head Witch. Although one scene in the film that I find a little 'out there' is the scene where she tricks the little kid Bruno into picking up some chocolate and she's 'motioning' for him to come to the stage. Um....a little inappropriate I think.

 scary film but worth watching

Brilliant film but very scary. As an adult it still freaks me out when the witches remove their masks! Reminds me of when i was growing up, a classic film that you can't forget.

 FRIGHTENING FAMILY FUN!!!

From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to The Wizard of Oz, many classic tales through the centuries wouldn,t be half as exciting without the devious doings of a witch. Now add another to the venerable tradition of stories that deliver frightening family fun, a collaboration combining the effects wizardry of executive producer Jim Henson and the imagination of Willy Wonka creator Roald Dahl. Academy Award winner Anjelica Huston won the Los Angeles and National Society of Film Critics Best Actress Awards for her marvelous work as the Grand High Witch in this enchanting fable directed by Nicolas Roeg. Jasen Fisher plays Luke, the nine year old boy who must foil the plans of a society of witches to turn the world,s children into mice. It wont be easy: they,ve already transformed him into one! But some big bad witches may be no match for the resourcefulness of a single tiny rodent. Kids and adults will love it, alike. 4/5. d:-)
