Chris Columbus lets go of the Harry Potter reins for new people to have a hand in creating what is becoming cinemas biggest money making saga.
First to step in to Columbus' shoes is Alfonso Cuaron and what he produces is an altogether more darker film in the Harry Potter collection.
It still works on the "this is going to happen we have to stop it" formula. But the bleakness makes this less fun for the kids but does allow Potter to begin to grow up.
This time Harry is protecting himself from a murderer who is out for Harry's blood. Along the way Harry must face soul-sucking Dementors and dangerous werewolfs.
As i said before this is not for the kids, it has some scarey mements mostly towards the end but there is no denying that this Darker image is certainly something that can be worked on.
The acting from the 3 leads is also beginning to improve. It's true that they are still not entirely convincing but they sure are better than in 1 and 2.
To sum up this doesn't have the entertainment value of the brilliant 2nd film, but it surpasses the 1st, Potter's beginning to grow up and this is a good thing!!!!
The 3rd installment of the Harry Potter story really starts to get things moving again. The characters are starting to mature a little more and more of the overall story starts to be revealed.
The best of the first 3 movies. 9.5/10
