In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and, with the help of trusted butler Alfred (a scene-stealing Michael Caine) unveils his alter-ego: Batman is a masked crusader who will use strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city...
Director Christopher Nolan deliberately exorcises the camp and grand guignol of the previous movies and TV series. This is truly a gritty and brooding exploration of the beginnings of the Dark Knight, a faithful vision of Bob Kane's anti-hero from DC Comics.

Amazing and incredible, great cast, a well written and directed piece of cinema and a more mature insight to the batman series, one of the most enjoyable movies in a long time, though i'm very sure the dark knight will thrash it, this and spiderman 2 are the closest to the best superhero movie so far.
Very Good

I think it could've done with a bit more action sequences, but other than that it was really good and done how Batman should be. Cristian Bale is the perfect choice. Looking forward to the sequel.
Finally the definitive Batman movie!

'Batman Begins' was released in 2005. Directed by Chris Nolan (Memento, The Prestige) this is a truly epic telling of Bruce Wayne's journey to becoming the Batman. Much like Richard Donner's spectacular 'Superman: the Movie', 'Batman Begins' perfectly blends a serious dramatic story with a true hollywood summer blockbuster.
Begins is also NOT a sequel or prequel to the other Batman films. Instead it sets up it's own new continuity that is more similiar to the Batman comics.
If you havent seen this film the best way I could describe it as Batman done like a cross between 'Gladiator' and 'Blade Runner'.
