Following the entertaining but (short) first series the show really hit its peak in season 2.
The odd poor episode (Kendra is not a good character) aside this has to be the most consistent series.

this season of buffy is a triumph,it has another slayer(no not faith but the cool kendra who is just as tough(she has a cool catfight with buffy too)she is also entertaining with her accent and stake mr pointy).
the judge is a cool villain.
and spike and drusilla make their appearence in sunnydale to crank up the entertainment factor that the first season was lacking.
the finale is a legend and one of the best episodes ever with a spectacular sword fight with angelus.
