X-Files: Complete Seasons 1-9 Box Set

It has taken me months to get through this massive collection! It is great to watch the whole show as a whole, including a break for the movie! You watch the changing personalities and the amazing storylines from start to finish. This is a really good deal for the whole of the X-Files, and comes in a handy hard cardboard box to keep them in. A great collection I will hopefully put aside another couple of months at some point to watch it all again!

FBI agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) has dedicated his career to solving cases that others have discarded but that he believes have a paranormal explanation. In an attempt to discredit him his immediate supervisors assign a young female agent, Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), to monitor and disprove his work. Their very first case together however asks more questions than it answers and leaves Mulder to believe that government officials are hiding information about the existence of alien life on Earth.

Throughout the nine seasons the show returns sporadically to these mythology episodes each time teasing the viewer with just the right amount of information to keeps us interested without giving away too much. The remainder of the episodes deal with individual cases involving all manner of strange goings on. Throughout its run The X-Files was able to create some truly original and memorable characters and the visual effects still largely stand up today (nearly 20 years after the pilot aired!).

The pairing of Mulder and Scully was one of televisions best and the show did begin to suffer when Duchovny left the show at the end of the seventh season to be replaced by new agents John Doggett and Monica Reyes. There were still a few worthwhile episodes but it was never quite the same.

However, with the release of this complete collection containing all manner of extras such as interviews and commentary, there really is no excuse for existing fans or those that have never seen the show to miss out on this DVD of a true sci-fi classic.

This whole collection, including the movies, this a must for any fan of this genre, theres so much varience in all 9 seasons, great plots, characters, suspence, if you have some spare money get this

It's right up there with Star Trek, Red Dwarf and Doctor Who.

I bought all the series in individual format but sent off for a display box. I loved the whole saga from start to finish but i must admiot that the last ever episode was a MASSIVE let down.

Other than that. Scully and Mulder Rule.
