I collect Ray Harryhausen's work, and would say this is probably his third best solo feature movie, though it's about on a par to The 7th Voyage of Sinbad and it may just be my personal preference, but see my other reviews for more information on that.

All of his Sinbad movies, and there are three, have all the classic Harryhausen traits, non stop action, stop motion animation creatures and an extravagant epic look to all the characters and settings, scary monsters, statues that come to life, this movie has all that and more!

The six armed living statue of Kali fight is quite something to behold and a triumph of choreography and effects, and watch out for quite a large part for Tom Baker being the evil magician Koura, a part reported to have secured him his role as Doctor Who!

A great film that all ages can enjoy (so long as they aren't expecting seamless perfection!).

The extra's aren't bad but are a little odd as very few of them seem to pertain to this movie, but if you haven't seen them before, they're still interesting.

Thoroughly recommended!
