There's No Such Thing as Free Cable

The manic madness of Jim Carrey strikes again in this totally wired, out of control comedy! Slip the cable guy fifty bucks and you'll get the movie channels for free - it's a time honoured urban ritual. But when Steven Kovacs (Matthew Broderick) moves into his new apartment he picks the wrong cable guy - this guy doesn't want fifty bucks; he just wants a friend for life. And he won't take no for an answer.

Jim Carrey is a fantastic actor with brilliant films like The Mask, Me, Myself and Irene and Ace Ventura under his belt. But this film let him down. No wonder Ben Stiller has decided to stay infront of the camera recently in films like Night At The Museum and Meet The Parents. Matthew Broderick is poor in this, and there is hardly no story, just a creepy stalker ruining a man's life. BIG DEAL! Happens every day. Jim Carrey is still great though!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars seriously underrated comedy

Many people regard the 'Cable Guy' as Jim Carrey's worst film, how wrong they are, I think after the phenomenal success of his films in the early 1990's - 'Ace Ventura', 'The Mask' & 'Dumb and Dumber' etc, people expected a film that was OOT funny, with no dark undertones,......but whats the problem with that it shows just how versatile 'Jim Carrey' is,............

I won't bore you with the story ,but in a nutshell (for people who haven't seen it), Jim Carrey plays 'Chip Douglas' a 'Cable Guy/psycho stalker of 'Steve' (Matthew Broderick), who orders illegal cable and becomes (air-quotes) friends with the 'Cable Guy'

Not one of Jims worst...but one of his BEST!!!!!
