"This it was given me to know, that many worlds have been enslaved by the Beast and his army, the Slayers. And this too was given me to know, that the beast would come to our world, the world of Krull, and his Black Fortress would be seen in the land, that the smoke of burning villages would darken the sky, and the cries of the dying would echo through deserted valleys. But one thing I cannot know, whether the prophecy be true, that a girl of ancient name shall become queen, that she shall choose a king, and that together they shall rule our world, and that their son shall rule the galaxy."
Journey into a mystical time and place that belongs to neither the past nor the present, where extraordinary creatures of mythology work their incredible magic, and where a horrific, omnipotent Beast is the ruler. This is the planet of Krull!
Prince Colwyn sets out on a daring mission to rescue his young bride who is held captive by the Beast. But slayers and alien beings under the command of the Beast oppose him at every turn. Colwyn must first reach a faraway cavern to recover the legendary Glaive, a flying blade capable of phenomenal powers.
Starring Ken Marshall, Lysette Anthony, Freddie Jones, Francesca Annis and Liam Neeson - in one of his earliest screen roles - Krull is a spectacular fantasy-adventure beyond your wildest imagination.

postponed on its release till after the success of return of the jedi, this cracking film quickly went in and out of the cinema.which is a shame as its a really good fantasy tale of dark versus light.good effects and a who`s who of spot the brits along with james horners stirring score make this a must for devotees of fantasy films.recommended.

Opening shot and that great James Horner score.
From then until the end you are taken on a mystical quest to save a young girl, from an alien invader.
Lots of soon to be stars appear in this film. Its got great special effects and a good story and a great musical score.
Krull keeps you watching, its perfect family entertainment, but also collectable for movie buff's who like good scifi.
This Dvd contains not only the film but a making of and shows you the comic strip of the film.
Its a well deserved watch and buy for any collection.
