The fifth and final series of Angel is bigger than all four previous sereis put together... Seriously.
Everything is done on a much bigger scale which keeps you absolutely hooked until the final scene.
Series 5 is quite the rollercoaster ride too, a couple of episodes ((You're Wecome and Origin to be precise)) brought me to tears, while Smile Time had me rolling on the floor in hysterics.
However, nothing can quite prepare you for the finale- not only is it possibly the greatest ever episode ever filmed but it is such a satisfying end to such a remarkable series.
After a shaky start, this season finds some real quality

Let's get one thing out of the way first; the opening few episodes of this season are not that good. It is almost as if the writers became lost in deciding where the season was going to go. But that's something that can be forgiven, because ultimately this season builds into a classic dark and gritty Angel storyline. There are some excellent individual performances throughout, and some classic episodes. It is a shame that Angel couldn't finish with a sixth season that was clearly being built up to, but nonetheless the final two episodes of this season are excellent, and are a fitting end to the series as a whole given the circumstances.
hmmm

Well, i have to say, after buying the 1st series of angel, i ordered the next one in sequence as soon as i'd finished watchin the previous, until season 4... It was a let down, after a few months i decided to give season 5 a go.
It was definatly a step up, although like everyone else has said - yes the ending is a big dissapointment. I thought it was a bit rushed aswell, as though they couldnt think of how to end it, so took an easy cop out.
Still a must for an angel fan, but u just get left without any answers... Was good to see connor back again, and the return of spike was nice too, would have like to have seen cordelia come back as a main character though which was dissapointing....
Well, i watched this within a week, as the story line is great, but once again... Dissapoiting ending.
