Wow heroes is amazing its the best show on TV right now after the amazing first series and the so-so second series, heroes is back on form with its third series; volume three-villains and volume four-fugitives.

By splitting the 25 episode season in half its like having two seperate seasons keeping the action coming and the storylines shocking all leading to the breathtaking finale which will have your jaw hanging.

All the cast are great, i wont name any of them because there are far too many but they are excellent, its one of the must see shows of all time with a big cast.

Its just a shame that we have to wait so long for the DVD when it finished months ago on the TV, i could easily watch this season over and over. Its just as good as season one and will have you hooked all the way through the generous 25 episodes.

One of the best shows ever, if you havent seen it watch it from the start you will be amazed.

Volume 3: Villains. Volume 4: Fugitives. What a great Season

following on from Season 1's Genesis and Season 2's Generations. Heroes is back for yet another round of powers, action and emotions. Season 3 shows Nathan Patrelli after the attack on his life by the unidentified assailant. following from this, the story unravels to a problem which following Hiro Nakamura's journey to the future, the world is in danger of being obliterated. to make things worse Sylar has regained his abilities, The Company whom operate at primatech have a rival side in the form of Pinehearst, and also to make things more dangerous, 12 of the most evil villains have been unleashed from Level 5 of Primatech whose deeds set to shake up the world. The Petrelli's are a great focus in this story as a person from The Brothers and Angela Petrelli's past returns from apparent death. Other characters such as Thompson and Kaito Nakamura make a welcome return and we see what happens when our heroes go over to the dark side themselves (some great shocks in store). The Volume ends with a great war between Primatech and Pinehearst which results in death, pain and resolution...for a while at least. look out for some characters gaining abilities of their own...

Volume 4 starts with a bang when Heroes are being kidnapped by a group of soldiers who gather them together and attempt to take them somewhere to which nobody will ever have to fear them. things dont go to plan as the mastermind of the operation (a former hero) sets out to rid the world of these special people, as well as hiding their own powers from the people he works with. The inclusion of The Hunter as the man who targets the heroes and gets his job done by any means necessary is a great addition, as well as a few new people who have some great special abilities...

With 9 episodes to go on TV, i can't wait to see how this concludes, its a brilliant Season, though inferior to the greatly astounding First. but still comes up to 9/10 on most occasions. buy this DVD and you shall not be disappointed.

 Losing it's way slightly

Series 1: Brilliant.
Series 2: Decent, too rushed.
Series 3: Weakest yet.

Volume 1 of this, 'Villains' is very entertaining, the characters really seem to come into their own and the stories keep audiences entertained constantly. The end of 'Villains' brilliantly sets up 'Fugitives' with a clash between the Petrelli brothers (no more shall be said to avoid spoilers).
However, when 'Fugitives' comes about, it just isn't at all interesting. The story plods along in a very predictable fashion and the characters cease to be interesting. As lovely as Hayden Panettiere's appearance is, her character has just become completely dull and hasn't developed in any way since the end of series 1.

'Villains' is brilliant, 'Fugitives' isn't.

The first volume of 'Heroes' season 3, 'Villains' is very entertaining and continues the excitement of the previous two seasons.Volume 2 of this series is called 'Fugitives' and is set a few months after 'Villains'.The only complaint I have about this season is the slight absense of Maya Herrera(Dania Ramirez). In season 2 she was a leading character but in season sha's hardly appeared!Hopefully we'll see her more in the fourth season.Apart from that every other character seems to appear alot. 7/10

The creative writers for volume 3 were sacked for a reason

I feel that the reviews for this boxset need a little balance, due to the amount of people heaping praise and 5 star ratings onto it. Clearly some people wouldn't know bad writing if it slapped them in the face, so here's a more balanced review from a once massive Heroes fan.

For a series that had the most perfect opening season, it does begger belief as to what happened along the way. A show that was heavily character driven, how these abilities affected their lives and how by destiny they were brought together to fight off an effectively written villain.

Season 2 showed a bit of a dip in form, not helped by the abrupt end caused by the writers strike. Many new characters were introduced, many of the storylines were considered boring and very slow.

Season 3, or more particularly, volume 3 "Villains" took all of the complaints from season 2 and threw them off of a bridge. The new characters are mostly unexplored and uninteresting (except Daphne), the comic relief supplied by Hiro and Ando was the biggest, most pointless time waste I've seen in Heroes so far, current characters are largely butchered plot wise (Mohinder being the biggest victim) and I'm not sure even they knew what the hell was going on with Sylar. The writing is just inconsistent and all over the place. They tried to focus more on action this time around but the action wasn't entertaining and the storylines were either irrelevant to the overall plot or just ridiculous. The second half of the season, volume 4 "Fugitives", was a fair improvement as they at least attempted to undo some of the mistakes left by volume 3 and the story had a direction to follow, which it actually stuck to.

So even though I own seasons 1 and 2 on blu-ray, I think I'll skip this one until it is bargain bin price due to it's sheer lack of quality. I cannot see myself re-watching volume 3 and therefore would only be buying for the sake of my collection. I think Heroes will forever go down as one of the biggest disasters in TV show history.
