Based upon Mark Millar's explosive graphic novel series and helmed by stunning visualist director Timur Bekmambetov - creator of the most successful Russian film franchise in history, the Night Watch series - Wanted tells the tale of one apathetic nobody's transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice.

25-year-old Wes (James McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock punching rut.

Until he met a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie).

After his estranged father is murdered, the deadly sexy Fox recruits Wes into the Fraternity, a secret society that trains Wes to avenge his dad's death by unlocking his dormant powers. As she teaches him how to develop lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility, Wes discovers this team lives by an ancient, unbreakable code: carry out the death orders given by fate itself.

With wickedly brilliant tutors - including the Fraternity's enigmatic leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman) - Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye. And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.

This was definately one of my favourite films of 2008, I went to see it at the cinema;which really is the best way to see this type of film. If you like your films fast paced then it doesnt get much faster than this. I love the style that director Timur Bekmambetov used in the film, without this I think it would have been another average action movie. Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy are both great and make very believable assasins. Even if you don't believe this to be true for James McAvoy, trust me after the film you will!

I cannot believe some of the reviews I have been reading for this film. I know it has a lot of action in it and the plot is a bit thin. But what do you expect sitting down to watch a film like this?? It was never trying to be a brilliantly acted, perfectly crafted film. Its a bit of fun and if thats what you after than look no further.

Awesome Film - Just some silly things.

Reading all the lower 1/2 star reviews it seems that they reason they don't like it is because of how 'unrealistic' it is. And yes, they're right...the loom of fate? Curving bullets? It's all made up...But hold on a minute? If the matrix got good reviews...surely that must mean that it must be real and we're all living in the matrix?!?!

A film doesn't have to be realistic to be good, and this film is a great example of escapism where you can kick back on the sofa and watch some mindless violence and amazing stunts. It's one of my favourite films for sure.

First thing i have to say is please ignore all the 1 and 2 star reviews. Just as in a few movies i have reviewed recently, i think these people just do not get it. The first thing to say that this is an adaptation of one of the most popular graphic novels ever. If you take this into account (and therefore don't take the movie too seriously) then you should be in for a rip-roaring 2 hours of over-the-top matrix style action. The story itself differs from the original graphic novel, however it really works for me. It's the story of a guy stuck in a dead end relationship, terrible job and life whose life is changed in the blink of an eye. With a good plot, good soundtrack, loads of action, good performances and a good twist at the end i highly recommend this movie.

Absolutely dreadful piece of cynical "film making". The only purpose it serves is for oiling up people with no attentions spans and lads with difficulties getting close to real life 'flesh women'. It's very stylishly made, but McAvoy is weak and Jolie just reheats her performances from the Tomb Raider flicks. Me and the missus (not inflatable or pixelated, at least I think she's real..) were so appalled we turned it off after about 40mins. Even the obligatory NIN song on the soundtrack is a non-starter... The most overated comic book adaption since 30 Days of Night!

I absolutly love the cast other than angelina jolie hate that woman. But i absolutly hate this film it is beyond pathetic. The storyline is rubbish, dull, pathetic, plain, ott, boring gave me heartburn which wasn't nice. I really struggled with this film i just sat there laughing at how bad this film is. It's completly flawed, very badly made and created. People are gving it outstanding reviews cause of the bending of the bullet and being to control where it goes i mean that is pathetic what a deluded mind and idea it's terrible. And morgan freeman what the hell happaned to you he gave a frankly appaling display which nearly gave me a heart attack he is one of the 1st class actors for example shawshank redemption which is my all time favourite film he was amazing in that and many more. Please don't bother watching this garbage.
So in a nutshell.
Bad acting, terrible story line, equally bad dilouge!
I saw this in the cinema and can tell you that it was the biggest waste of a couple of hours i have ever spent!!! It doesn't matter how good actions scenes can get - the rest of this film was just absoloutely terrible, there was no redeeming feature in my opinion. How it keeps getting good reviews is totally beyond me.
Loom of fate??? Need i say more?!! 0/10
