This movie is pretty pants. It may be because I don't particulary like Steve Carrell or American comedies that much.
However...The acting itself is just plain terrible, the jokes aren't funny at all...infact the whole movie is over-rated and completely boring, I swtiched off about an hour into it!
Spend your cash elsewhere.

Basicly this film is about a guy called andy who happily lives at home on his own with his orginal sealed toys he has collected over the years who has never encountered sex before. As a 40 year old man andy is clueless on how to 'Get Laid' so his friends from work give him a helping hand. The situations andy gets into makes the film what it is and in my opinion for £2.99 you can't go wrong...

I cannot believe the reviews this film is receiving below. This has to be one of the worst films I have ever encountered, with old gags, annoying characters (the love interest female lead is terrible) and lame story. Bad episode of typical american sitcom at best. Avoid. Nuff said

One of the funniest films I've seen in a long time, I recommend this to anyone with any sense of humour as I know this will make almost everyone laugh.

I watched this movie at a friends house the other night, when he showed me the DVD cover and told me the basic storyline I was expecting another of those crappy American comedies that is sorta trying to be funny but isn't. Well I was pleasently suprised to find this a very enjoyable and funny movie right from the start and I did get pretty engrossed in the film's story too.
The only disappointing fact about this film, which costs it it's fifth star for me, is the ending. It's a terrible cheesy ending that makes you feel as if the writers couldn't be assed to come up with a propper ending. Don't let that put you off buying it of course, at £2.99 it's well worth it. Might even get it myself at that price actually, I imagine I'd want to watch it again someday.

Top 10 DVD Reviewer

Steve Carell is fantastic as the 40 Year Old Virgin, in a tale of the guys miss-adventures in trying to get laid! The gags in the film may not be subtle, but they sure are funny, as he goes from one embarrassing situation to another in his quest for sex, but why the film really works is because of the subtle and innocent performance of Carell, the guy is such a likeable character, and you really do cringe when he goes to the extreams of loosing his viginity. Just check out the chest waxing scene Carrell did for real, I thought I was going to die laughing, it is this scene alone that pushes the film from a very good comedy to a outstanding comedy. This film is more than a gross out sex comedy, as the film also is very warm, and sweet natured in equel measures. Anybody who Liked Knocked Up and Superbad, should buy this movie now.

This film was class. I really felt sorry for the guy and had tears in my eyes at some points (of laughter). It did drag on a bit at some points and could have been cut at points. Worth £4.99 though...

Andy Stitzer (Steve Carell) is a 40 year old virgin who has the perfect life. He works in a electrical store SmarTech and is very happy with his life. He gets asked by a group of men who work in the store to come and have a game of poker with them, he goes and shines at the game. This leads to Andy's future. The 40 Year Old Virgin is packed full of very clever jokes and puns. One of the best comedy films of this Century and is one to be watched over and over again and will not gather dust like some other films do.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Absolutley Brilliant!
