I love this series and have watched it many times - well worth the money. The cast give an excellent performance and have me laughing out loud! Don't believe any negative reviews you may have heard, i am a huge friends fan and i think this show is great. Now if only they'd bring out series two on dvd...

 Very Good, Very Funny.

For 10 years Friends was one of the most loved sitcoms ever and is still on TV every day (if you get E4 you can watch all 238 episodes in the space of a couple of months before it all starts again). It is the fact that Friends was so well loved that Joey was destined to fail no matter how good it was and after 2 seasons Joey was no more.
Joey follows the lovable, dim-witted, serial dating actor Joey Tribianni. With Chandler & Monica, Ross & Rachel and Phoebe all paired off, married and starting new chapters in their lives Joey leaves New York and heads for Los Angeles to further his career. When he gets there he finds himself moving in with his geeky nephew Michael which means Michaels over-protective mother who is also Joey's slightly slutty sister Gina practically living there as well. Joey also befriends his gorgeous laywer landlady Alex and before long Alex is also hanging out constantly. As Joey starts a new TV Show (White Powder) and hires a new agent, even whackier than the late Estelle Leonard, ex alcoholic slightly sex obsessed and constantly insulting Bobby actually does do good for Joey's career in her own way.
Starring Matt LeBlanc reprising his role as Joey and co-starring Andrea Anders (of failed sitcom fame, also check out The Class) Paul Costanzo (probably best known as the precotious and lovable genius stoner from Road Trip) and Drea De Matteo (from The Sopranos) with great guest stars like Jennifer Coolidge (as Joey's wild agent Bobby) and Lucy Lui as Joey's slightly OCD impaired boss and with episodes directed by Friends co-creator Kevin S Bright and LeBlancs Friends co-star David Schwimmer the show has a completely different feel to it than Friends... Slightly goofier and zanier than Friends the show has some great gags, fantastic jokes and brilliant stories. It may have only lasted 2 Seasons but in my humble opinion Joey was a mini classic. Unfortunately the DVD is pretty bare on the extra features front but the episodes are funnier than hell!

As good as friends, just love it!

Before this even started airing on TV, people were comparing it to Friends.

Now I was and still am a big Friends fan, but it's time to move on. The show ended in 2004 and in no way did they say this show would be the same.

Matt LeBlanc is great in it (again), as are Andrea Anders (as landlord, Alex), Drea De Matteo (his sister, Gina), Paulo Costanzo (his nephew, Michael) and Jennifer Coolidge (as Joey's "out there" agent, Bobbie).

The show is funny and I recommend it.

Just don't keep comparing it to Friends. The only thing connecting this to Friends is Joey (obviously), the odd mention of the "gang" (I can only remember two mentions) and a picture of Chandler and Joey that you can see in the background.
