The Muppet Christmas Carol is was a particular favourite of mine growing up and is still my favourite christmas film. I have the vhs but it was getting worn out and I like to own my fave films on dvd, so I bought this. An entire song is cut out from the version I remember and love on my vhs! The song 'The love is gone' sung by Belle in the scenes when Ebenezer goes to the past. This is disapointing as I liked that song (as all of them) and feel it is important in revealing more of Scrooges character.
Im confused why on earth this scene was cut out, I hope they will bring out another version of the dvd with the songs we remember intact.
I have this film on the great old video but had nothing to play it on so thought id get the dvd cant beleive they have taken the best part of the film out the love is gone that song makes the film for me and was the only reason i order the dvd so i could sing along so dissapointed got to that part and stoped watching : - (
...WHY, oh WHY, did they cut out Belle's song?? That was one of my favourite songs in the film and gives it a really nice poignant moment in amongst all the Muppett comedy!!
Plus, it then doesn't make sense when at the end they sing "The love we found", as if everyone's supposed to know the song!!
Even with this song being cut out I still watch it every single year and will continue to do so till I'm much older than I am!!
A truly entertaining film and a must see each Christmas, but why have they removed Belle's lovely song wrecking one of the most touching scenes in the film. Disney claim this is a special edition. Obviously some new meaning of the word special that nobody has bothered to explain to me...

This is a great movie. Loved by millions of fans worldwide. Perfect in every way, but wait...
How about we make it better by removing the best song in the whole musical - hey, that would be a good idea, wouldn't it?
Here's a hint, if you liked the original and the best, buy the VHS and have it recorded to a DVD. That way, at least you know you ARE getting the whole movie and not some Disney hacked up mess of a 'Special' Edition.
