  a little too far

| | See all Racheyface's reviews (2)

this film isn't quite as bad as everyone says. However, i think that it has been taken too far with a fourth film, in the same way that The Mummy and Pirates of the Caribbean has gone too far.

  What a let down!

I was really looking forward to seeing this as i always loved the others when i was young but it was just awful in every way, the acting, the action which was so far fetched its incredible and then the ending, well that was the icing on the cake!

  Not good

If you miss out the first 10 minutes and the last 10 miuntes of the film it improves greatly up to 4 stars but they made the start and the end and that pulls it down to 2 stars and that is only becouse the middle of the film is not bad. That said this is a baaaad end to an great series. My addvice, just get the first three and forget this one.

He puts the hat back on after all these years and really should have left it be!
Everything was on a good note up untill this movie and not because they added sci-fi,real crystal skulls were in fact found and in muesuems in Mexico but there was no piont going sci-fi really because the film never wanted to add enough detail on the subject just a quick fly by.
I just think the acting could have been better aswell it never seemed serious enough and the effects were boardering CGI cartoon it just did not work for me for what should have been the film of the century.

OK BUT NOT A PATCH ON THE ORIGINALS

In different circumstances this would be considered a decent action film, but given the fact it is Indiana Jones this is massively disappointing and just doesn't cut it. Harrison Ford is now far to old for this role and trying to bring back the magic 20 years later just didn't work. I also didn't find the story anywhere near as entertaining as the three previous films. Don't ruin the Indiana Jones legacy by doing anymore please!!!!

The series still ends with The Last Crusade.

I am glad I am not the only one that thought this was drivel. I am glad to be in good company!
Ok I will now be contsructive...The fake russian accents, the surviving a nuclear blast by being in a fridge escapade and the stupid, ridiculous, farcical, Dr who notion to involve aliens.. gah! What were they thinking ?
Whilst the good points of the film are the usual Indy action pieces, bringing back Marion & introducing his son (Presumably to make Indy 5!) and killing off the baddies aplenty. These good points allowed me to watch the film disgruntled but fairly happily until the last 1/4 of it. This then went over my line. Aliens, Spaceships and sci-fi drivel was enough to put me off the whole film!
I have had this since release and watched once all the way through and once to only the end of the bad guy vehicle chase through the forest. Although the chase was cringeworthy enough I could not bring myself to endure the pure rubbish, drivel and disappoinntment of the Harrison Ford era Indy ending with this ill conceived plot!
Worth a watch and even worth buying if you are a completist but honestly the saga for me still ends with the cracking The Last Crusade.
A boil on the bum of the Indy franchise. An insult to the brilliant Harrison Ford and a disappointment to the fans who like me have waited 20 years for this garbage.

OVER 20 YEARS TO BRING US THIS DRIVEL

They had over twenty years to bring us a rip roaring adventure that would equal raiders and crusade and instead after infinite script re writes we end up with another temple of doom, infact its worse than that and thats saying something.speilberg has said he will never do a commentary and that his films alone on the big screen speak for themselves.well...........heres an idea, and it wouldnt take but three seconds to do.steve and george should get into a recording studio and as the opening shot for crystal skull begins simply say one word in unison........sorry.really really bad.

Good follow up to the earlier films

I must admit after watching this Indiana Jones film i thought it was quite a good follow to the previous films from years and years ago. Harrison Ford even though he is 60 still packed a good punch in this film and showed that Indiana Jones is really good. The only reason it didnt get 5***** is because there was a little bit of cheesy acting during the film but overall it was a very good film. The set and costume desighn during the film was really good and really made you feel like you where there in the 1960's with Indiana Jones(Harrison Ford). A excellent film and one that everyone should try.

  Beyond Terrible!

If I could give it no stars then I would. This film is just shockingly bad. Total and Utter rubbish! The jokes are the worst, the action is dodgy at best and the storyline is just the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in a mainstream movie. A four year old could have come up with a better story. What a disaster!

It ruins the indy series! Do not buy this film!
