Crippled by a curtailed first season and then almost a year off the screens, this second season failed to maintain the audience of that first year, and so sadly was pulled from the American schedules, with three episodes unbroadcast - a tragedy, as each and every confection offered in this boxset is to be treasured.
Pushing Daisies is one of the most innovative, unique and enjoyable shows to come to our screens in years, a quiet delight to brighten and colour our dull lives. The final episode, while not managing to resolve all the lingering plot threads, still manages to send the show out on a note of happiness for most of the characters - and has one of the funniest death scenes of the whole show - murder by shark attack!
We only have twenty two episodes over two years, but take the time to enjoy the sumptuous colours, the quirky characters, the insanely fast quips, the outrageous production design, and the lavish delights of pie.
