Pushing Daisies follows the story of Ned (Lee Pace), who, as a boy, discovers that he can bring the dead back to life. As an adult he is now a pie maker and not only uses this gift to ripen fruit for his pies but also solve murders alongside a private investigator. The tale then gets complicated as he brings his childhood sweetheart, Chuck (Anna Friel) back to life. Life would be perfect for Ned and Chuck except one cruel twist, if he ever touches her again she'll go back to being dead... But this time for good!

Best TV show for a long time

I Love Pushing Daises, cant believe they cancelled it, but we all know why; ratings because shows like Pop idol, X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, Americas Got Talent and all these type of shows have 'dumbed' down people, so when something different comes along, that involves a bit of thinking to understand it, people just don't get it. But the people who do get it (like me); see what a brilliant show it really is. If it's not got phone-ins in it then the networks don't commission them, cos they don't make even more money from the phone calls - maybe if there wasn't a recession we may have had a season 3, ABC please re-consider, and commission another series, its ending (the tiding up of loose ends, felt so forced in the last episode.

Another show taken from us too soon.

Crippled by a curtailed first season and then almost a year off the screens, this second season failed to maintain the audience of that first year, and so sadly was pulled from the American schedules, with three episodes unbroadcast - a tragedy, as each and every confection offered in this boxset is to be treasured.

Pushing Daisies is one of the most innovative, unique and enjoyable shows to come to our screens in years, a quiet delight to brighten and colour our dull lives. The final episode, while not managing to resolve all the lingering plot threads, still manages to send the show out on a note of happiness for most of the characters - and has one of the funniest death scenes of the whole show - murder by shark attack!

We only have twenty two episodes over two years, but take the time to enjoy the sumptuous colours, the quirky characters, the insanely fast quips, the outrageous production design, and the lavish delights of pie.

 Absolutely Brilliant

I have to completely disagree with the previous review written about Pushing Daisies; it is one of the most outstanding, unique programmes out there. With an ace cast, brilliant wit and lavish settings, Pushing Daisies offers fresh imagination to television - something that has definitely been missing for some time.

Anna Friel's (Chuck) american accent is doubtless (who'd have thought she played Beth Jordache in Brookside all those years ago!). Lee Pace (Ned) is the fantastic, slightly nervous yet willing hero of the series, and Kristin Chenoweth (Olive) provides such comedy.

Each episode an individual case. I know people who, whilst watching CSI and other American Crime Dramas, try and guess the suspects and finally solve the crime. Pushing Daisies is the same principle, yet provides much humour on the way.

An absolute breath of fresh air to television! Series 1 and 2 share the trophy; i can't choose a best. But its bloody briliant, i recommend it entirely!

 The magic continues

Season two of Pushing daisies seemed to be the final season of this fantasic and magical show. Season two proved to be very low rated but despite it's cancellation, it got a great ending and will now live on Comic book form and a possible movie.

Season two follows on from the revelation about Aunt Lily being more related to Chuck then we thought. Ned and Chuck are still madly in love but still can't touch one another. Olive is still in love with Ned but has a nervous breakdown due to all secrets she is keeping after befriending the aunts in Season 1. She goes to a nunnery which proves hilarious results. Emerson searches for his daughter who was taken away from him when she was young.

We get 13 episodes and some great features on how the show is made. The last episode does not wrap up everything but it leaves you feeling not disappointed and fingers crossed we get a movie.

Pushing daisies is without a doubt one of the best Television shows in years. Two seasons were worth it.
