Watch once, then move on to a proper sci-fi movie

Well, the story in itself has a lot of potential, but the casting of Nicholas Cage in this movie and the totally stupid hollywood "approach" - the not understandable and irrational decisions by characters during the plot - make this movie so unbelievable and "plastic". By all means, buy this DVD to get through the next 2 hrs, just don't expect to watch this DVD more than once. The (just before) ending though is nicely done and good graphics. But the effects before the lift-off scene are low grade and fake. The end itself , well .., decide for yourself.

  Cut and Shut film

Bunch of Aliens or Angels amuse themselves tormenting a few people with predictions for no apparent reason as this has no effect on fulfilling there ultimate goal.
The plot simply does not go together with the end of the film there are some good ideas but they are wasted on this insulting screen play. Good special effects the aeroplane crash is alarming and for once the Americans do not get to avoid disaster with a big bomb.

  Terrible ending

Fairly watchable film ruined by a ridiculous ending. Although it does mean that it is pretty unlikely that you will be able to guess how it ends!

  Disappointing!

When I saw the trailer, it seemed like the kind of movie I like.
But when I saw it, I really liked it until I saw the ending. It was totally unexpected, but not in a good way at all. I won`t do a spoiler, but the ending put me off seeing this movie ever again.
The trailer is totally misleading. That`s why I was so disappointed. It`s not about what the trailer leads you to believe. Though I wish that were the case because the movie would have been so much better that way.

  Pleasantly Surprised...

I bought this film after being disappointed by 2012, and wasn't expecting too much, add to that i'm not much of a Nicolas Cage fan, i used to be, up until about Con Air, but lately he's been going from bad to worse.

However this film was really enjoyable, and Cage wasn't annoying as he can be. I as-specially enjoyed the disaster scenes.

There's even kids in quite dominating roles, who aren't terrible either.

At this price i would recommend this movie.

The film fell in line with 2012,quite a mainstream topic.A blend of Sci-fi and Drama and a decent enough performance from Cage. The effects were done well but not what i'd call an amazing film just average.

  Enticing Yet Lame

I was hyped up about this movie and really looked forward to seeing it. I was rather disappointed.

There's certain parts that I just thought 'wow that's good' but other than those minor parts it was fairly boring and the feel of the film just didn't work.

The plane crash part was my favourite, and like I said there are a few of those moments where you just think 'that was pretty damn good' but there's not enough of those moments.

Nicholas Cage is one of my favourite actors but I don't think this was one of his best by a long shot. I would say don't bother watching, but there are some cool moments in it that are probably worth a look at.

The ending is pretty naff too.

Not bad but not good either.

It's simply a marmite film and there's no escaping it.

What commences and initially develops as a rather effective and chilling story of the discovery of a 50 year buried time capsule by Nic Cage and his son, which is discovered to contain horrifyingly accurate predictions of past disasters..........and also of even more catastrophic future ones, veers completely into different territory towards the end that makes or breaks the film depending on the viewer.

I won't spoil that part, because you really should give the film a go yourself to get that far and see how you think about it. You may get more mileage out of it than I did. Production-wise it has some very good disaster effects, Cage is adequate, but given the ending it may be one to rent or pick up as cheaply as possible to give it a taste first.

i saw this on the cinema where you do get a bigger impact from it,one of the few films i left feeling really blown away with,it probably wont have that impact on the small screen, but its a stunning film anyway
