  Worth a watch

Not a bad thriller but has been done too many times before, and unfortunately better. Anyone with an IQ over 50 will predict every scene but it's 75 minutes of mindless entertainment.

Don't bother buying this movie! Believe me!

This is not a particularly imaginative movie - there are much better movies in this genre - watch Severance, Wilderness or Eden Lake, not this! With this movie you get a load of people running through a forest being hunted - the deaths are not inventive and it's all very déjà vu. The character build up is very poor - do you care if these characters are killed - not really - you didn't get a chance to know them. The cinematography leaves no mark and the script is unsophisticated. This is not worth buying!! Very boring!!

  Excellent!!!

I watched this film, and it had me hiding behind my cushions! it was a true classic film, the fact it was spoken in a foreign language made it all the more scary!! brilliant horror film!!

norwegian horror flicks get better and better, this is no way a bad film, if you love gory violent disturbing films then manhunt is the one for you. it may have been done before yes, but by amateurs, this is a fantastic film and has the formula just right, very bloody, good simple story, a must for real hardcore horror fans. it may not run for long but still worth the buy.

  Worst norwegian (horror) movie ever

| | See all Crake07's reviews (1)

I find the two previous reviews funny since they both experienced this movie as a foreign film and rated it top notch. The term "lost in translation" comes to mind in relation to being able to judge the quality and realism of both acting and the feel of a certain environment. As a native Norwegian I have to admit that this movie has about the worst script and acting I have ever seen in a Norwegian horror movie and even movie period. The dialog is so week it hurts at certain times. The plot is your average redneck gone bad horror cliché and in a Norwegian setting like this it becomes a totally meaningless cultural myth, meaning the American myth of murderous rednecks does not fit into the cultural landscape of Norwegian countryside. In fact in Norway the myth is reversed. Everyone talks about how bad the city crime is, never how weird people in the countryside are. In addition the running the woods become meaningless, chaotic, retarded and boring after a while. The only thing this movie had going for it was the photography, but when we loose sense of time and place with every location looking the same, that being green forest, we lose interest in that also. Sorry but I need more than pretty photography and gore to enjoy a horror movie.

  Great Low Budget Foreign Horror

| | See all NorthernMonkey2008's reviews (3)

Saw this at Fright Fest last year under its Norwegian title "Rovdyr".Low budget film funded by the director and writer (1 of which has a lead role in the film) but it doesnt feel low budget. Its wonderfully shot, great death scenes, very brutal.I will be surprised if this is uncut.I have the Dutch version on dvd which is the same cut as I saw in the cinema. Its basically "crazed locals" stalking tourists through the forest but this is done with style and originality-if anyone saw the atrocity that is "Timber Falls" this is 100 times better and this is the film "Timber Falls" wishes it was!Highly recommended-give it a try. Also my wife and I met the director (Patrik Syverson) at Fright Fest, lovely guy very humble and was honoured we loved his film and was just happy to get his film out there-hes a big horror fan too.Do him and us a favour, buy this and spread the word!Brilliant!
