A coy family film, with a devious twist. Edward is the mysterious loner locked in a castle left by the owner who died before he could complete his invention - Edward. Funny in some places, a bit risque, dark and dramatic. Depp plays Edward extremely well. The concept could scare younger children easily, so I don't recommend until they are at least nine or ten. Other than that, this is a movie which every household must own. Very good.

Tim Burton is something of an auteur and this movie really proves the point.
It looks wonderful, from the darkness of the castle to the identically routined, sunny suburban houses.
The acting from Depp is, as usual, brilliant as are the suporting cast especially Dianne West.
This is the film that got me into Burton.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Amazing!
