Review

The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things is based on JT Leroy's critically acclaimed novel of the same name.

Jeremiah is a young child who is pulled from his foster home and thrown into a life on the streets with his teenage mother, Sarah. The two travel through the country roads of the U.S. and learn first-hand about the troubles of the world.

Featuring music from Sonic Youth and direction from Asia Argento (the daughter of Giallo horror veteran, Dario), The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things was one of the most anticipated independent films of 2004!

I wont give any of the film away as it deserves to be seen through a fresh pair of eyes however I'll warn you it is not for the faint hearted. It is very blunt and to the point much like the origional novel (which it sticks closely too). "The Heart" opens your eyes and challenges you to think and to feel. It's messed up but it's great. Sprouse and Argento also work really well together and he proves he is someone to look out for in the future. I personally loved the film and would definately recomend it. Argento fans will not be dissapointed!
