Nightmare-inducing thriller from Belgium about a singer (Laurent Lucas) whose car breaks down on the way to a Christmas gig. Seeking assistance in a nearby cottage, the owner's friendly manner soon sours as he reflects on the wife that left him. As beautiful as it is hideous. As horrendous as it is hilarious.

Compelling use of light, music and editing; this is something Hollywood NEEDS to learn from.

While watching this film don't make the mistake of thinking, 'at least it can't possibly get any worse' between your drawn-out catches of breath. Because this film follows a fundamentally basic, and essential, rule of horror: If it can get worse, it will.

And it does. In true, white-hot, terrifyingly Belgian style.

 Stunning

Amazing film, clever, dark and creepy. If you are a true horror fan you will not be disappointed, please do not be put off by the ignorant "I didn't like the subtitles" comments and buy this movie.

Awesome, original,a must see for TRUE horror fans

From the outset of this superb film, the director takes you on a disturbing and thought - provoking journey, touching on taboos and ensuring there are enough twists and turns to keep you guessing right to the end.You will laugh, wince, jump and cry,the only thing you won't be is dissappointed, enjoy!

 Intense, Sick and Scary

If you like good films that really spend time building atmosphere and leaving you uncertain as to which direction they will take this is a film for you. If however you like cheap American films that were clearly made just to generate revenue (like our friend embleton01) this will not be for you. (Sorry embleton01 but your choice of films is terrible - story line, script ? they clearly don't bother you). A similiar story line to wrong turn or the usual I really shouldn't of taken that short cut type film but with much more intense and unnerving results. Watch, enjoy and cringe but be sure never to land yourself in the same situation.

 Unbelievable

Never in my life have I seen anything like this. It's shocking as can be. Really interesting characters and ideas. Some horrible scenes that made me feel ill to be honest. Another brilliant french extreme movie. The extras on the disc tally up to over 45 minutes of interviews and a short film. Highly Recommended.
