Having no knowledge of the story prior to watching this film, Dorian Gray is a little confusing at times but by the end it comes together. Again, not knowing the book i'm not sure how well it relates to the original story. Other reviewers seem to love or hate it! Personally i found it an intriguing watch and there's no mistaking this works as a film. Interesting story that offers a different perspective to other period films. The acting is also very good. Well made film well worth a watch.

I found this film to be really really good, the acting was brilliant, and the entertainment value was really good too. I can watch this film over and over and not get bored, i must have watched 10 times or more and i still jump out of my seat at the scary bits. I highly recommend this film. It is very much worth watching.

The picture of Dorian Gray is a wonderful book ... and perfectly suitable for a movie adaption. So why did they have to rewrite it, strip it af all meaning and mutilate it? The actors seem to have been aware of the mess ... and they have adapted their acting accordingly.

One of the wierdest movies i;ve seen with some disturbing moments. The story is quite good and the acting convincing. The best comes to the end of the movie where everything sums up. i never read the book so it kept me guessing whether the pact can be reversed at the end, or not.
Peculiar but at the same time interesting movie.

Hmm, not terrible but not wonderful either!

For some, this film is simply an example of over the top CGI and little else, and may well outrage fans of the book for its disrespect of the original story. However the entertainment value of Dorian Gray is not to be underestimated. Ben Barnes however was not at all how I expected Dorian and his acting seemed to be a little off at times, while Colin Firth's Henry fared much better in terms of acting quality. The story itself goes way off track with its original material, but shouldn't bother you if you haven't read the book. I still enjoyed it simply for the film's overall 'look' rather than its story.

so disappointed in this film, not a patch on the original, too much violence, nudity and unsuitable material. Fast forwarded it all practically, don't waste your money!

Only just managed to get to the end of this film and I wish I hadnt bothered. If you get to watch it for free give it a whirl but do not part with your hard earned cash.

An enjoyable movie from the opening titles!
The characters are portrayed in an an honest if not always likeable fashion, which helps to stir emotions of both dislike and pity!
Visually stunning and an enjoyable journey from start to finish!

It Is A Highly Recommended Film and I Say That From A Late Teen Point Of view. An Ingenius Tangle Of Mystery, New Age Agression And Victorian Era. Me and My girlfriend Enjoyed It Very Much Sooo I Would Say It Is Suited To Couples Who Like To Be On the Edge Of their Seats But Also Deep In Thought Of What Might Happen Next. Theres Alittle Bit More Violence Than Expected And Slighlty More Nuidity But That Fitted Perfectly With Ben Barnes Character.
