Matt Damon stars as Mark Whitacre, a real-life PhD student who became a whistleblower on an agricultural business when their practices become unlawful. Valued as a rising star at the company, Whitacre secretly set about compiling hours of video footage of malpractice over several years which revealed one of the biggest price-fixing scandals in history.

After the scandal was uncovered, Whitacre suffered a mental breakdown, spiralling into a life of bizarre behaviour and mania from the pressures of his undercover work. The Informant recounts his story with a darkly comic sensibility.

Well made movie with old fashioned feel to it.
Story is a bit up and down, but overall enjoyable.
Main highlights are Matt Damons wonderfully Deluded Performance and the Super Voice Over he delivers with it.
Probably wont be to everyones taste.

Matt Damon steps into a different role here and manages to pull it off. He captures the essence of the character and really gives us the strange feeling thats intended. At times his performance is awkward and painful to watch but its all part of the ploy!
The story itself isn't too bad, it's interesting and has a few twists in it which'll give you some nice surprises, and even make you chuckle from time to time.
Downfalls come in the timing, the first hour is mind numblingly slow, I even found myself staring at the clock. The last 40mins livens up and gives you something to be interested in.
The comedy side is another part which gets boring, at first Damon's character is quirky but by the later stages you're growing tired of him.

Overall: It's interesting enough but at times its too slow, and the character gets a little tiresome. However it still has some laughs and a cool feel about it.
Take it or Leave it.
