Kevin James from TV's King of Queens stars as Paul Blart - a shopping centre security guard with a never-say-die attitude. After a group of thugs break into the Mall and take the patrons hostage, Paul has the chance to prove his worth and become the hero he has always dreamt of being.

With a heart that won't quit, a stomach that won't stop gurgling and a self-sworn oath to protect his turf, he's Paul Blart: Mall Cop.

Mild-mannered Paul Blart (Kevin James, The King of Queens) has always had huge dreams of becoming a State Trooper. Until then, he patrols the local mall as a security guard. With his closely cropped moustache, personal transporter and gung-ho attitude, only Blart seems to take his job seriously. All that changes when a team of thugs raids the mall and takes hostages. Untrained, unarmed and a super-size target, Blart has to become a real cop to save the day.

Best way to enjoy this movie is not to expect to much from it.
Yea the story is a bit hit & miss & there are some just silly childish parts but you have to hand it to Kevin James, for me he is the new John Candy & plays these parts superbly.
If your in the mood for a little light fun & don't want to think to much about what your watching or like me your a Kevin James fan, then I would go for this film.

I truly did not know what to expect from this movie, as the previouse reviews are mixed, and that's the same as the final product of the film as the outcome is very mixed. The character Paul Blart is very likeable, as is most of the film, as at the heart of the film it's a great under dog story. I think the first half of the film works better, than the second half's Die Hard in a mall situation, but the gags come thick and fast and some are really gut busting funniny, but the film suffers as it seems to run out of ideas in the final third, but this is only a little let down to what is a hugly enjoyable comedy.
and it's one of those reviews where it's a ***1/2 Stars and not the 3 stars as stated
It may not be every bodies cup of tea, but it's great fun whilst it last's

 Mall Man Rocks!

When I first saw this film it reminded me of the classic comedy movies of the Eighties like Ghostbusters, Robocop, and Anchorman.

I read that the guy who plays Paul Blart used to be real security guard and it really comes through in his performance - much like Ricky Gervais ability to reflect the comedic side of working in an office, in that TV show - cant remember what it was called though?

I laughed for about 90 mins straight, then put this film on, and it didnt disappoint.

So buy it, watch it, then watch it again. Make some dinner, check the internet, and watch it a third time, possibly falling asleep, as it was a long day at work, and your boss was moaning at you again, but its all because of that guy who works on the third floor who keeps making mistakes.

Heres to a sequel, and heres to Paul Blart - that crazy, crazy mall man.

Don't listen to the bad reviews.

I went to the cinema to watch this act came out needing new boxers. Paul Blart plays a hillarious character. One of the best comedy's of 2009 it certainly has my vote don't listen to anyone who says this is a bad movie.
