As a religious skins fan, i loved the 1st and 2nd series. I was sad to see the origional cast leave but was totally taken a back with the preformances from this cast. I find this series much more entertaining and focuses on real issues in society. I look forward to series 4 being released on DVD and I'm upset that this cast will then be finished as I feel their characters have so much more to tell.

 best series yet

Skins has always prided itself on presenting the most controvertial issues in a fun loving but realistic way. It was brave to replace a well loved and popular cast but the programme has in my opinion excelled in all areas. I actually find that as a whole the characters are a lot more likeable than the previous ones. The show depicts things such as autism, substance abuse, divorce and homosexuality in a very pleasing and watchable fashion. No characters are forced into the background and sub plots such as JJ's torment and Emilys relationship with Naomi are often brought to the fore-front and at times overshadow some of the main plotlines. My favourite characters would have to be Freddie, JJ and the twins. If series 4 is as good as this then the show certainly has high hopes.

i was a big fan of seasons 1&2 but 3 is simply terrible, it is more like hollyoaks with naughty words than skins. i am having serious doubts that i will watch season 4..................

 Simply poor

Okay Skins fans, if you liked Series 1&2, don't expect Series 3 to live up to it. I didn't feel any of the same depth in the new characters compared to the old. They raised the bar too high with the original cast and it was always going to be impossible to beat. The character Cook for example, is a ASBO hunting lager lout that, if you met in real life, would gladly punch in the face. Compare his "character" to any of those that were in the original cast and you see how shallow it really is.

 BRILLIANT SERIES

Yes they may have replaced the old cast, who were pretty amazing, but they have found actors and charecters to match if not better the series before hand. The situations the cast get themselves into are hilairous as are the charecters from 'bonkers' pandora to the irritable but loving Cook played by an amazing Jack o'connell. This is television at its best and if you have not seen it why not go back and start from the beginning. Brilliant.

 Best Of The Three :o)

I think some people on here need to get a grip. its a new cast for a reason, so why watch it if you want them to be exactly the same as the old cast?. i liked the first two season's but season three is by far the best in my opinion. it shows a whole new slant on what being a teenager is really all about for some people. i think some of the charactors are much better in season three for example cook and i much prefer the female cast for acting ability as well.

still though if your not a boring internet geek who compares every minor detail from season to season then you will love season three and its money well spent!!!!

 must have!

Having been a fan of the two previous series of Skins and how the characters demonstrated, in some respects, a very realistic picture of the harshness of life I was sorely disappointed when this new series started.

As others have commented previous, the new characters are often irritating. I got the vibe that they had run out of ideas as the characters were so similar to their predecessors and the plots often weak.

From personal opinion, I'd give it a miss. It's not brilliant and lets down a fabulous programme!
