I have to say that I very much enjoyed this series. Never saw it until it was shown while I was in the U.S. I was not a great fan of Colin Firth until I saw Pride and Prejudice. I thought that Jennifer Ehle was fantastic. I'm surprised that we haven't seen her in many more productions. Well done!

Can only agree with the other reviews. Wonderful adaptation that manages to be true to the book, but also manages to do it in a way that appeals to a more modern audience. The production, cast, sets, costumes, locations, music etc are all wonderful and considered. The drama unfolds with each episode and holds you from the opening credits. Brilliant.

  The best P&P adaptation ever!

I love this version of Pride & Prejudice. I think it is as true to the original book as it is possible for an adaptation to be! Truly worth a watch!

I am a fan of Jane Austin and have seen nearly all of the films and series that have been made, and this one is by far the best! If you are a Jane Austin fan or you adore period dramas, this is a must.

  Simply the best

If you are looking for the definitive adaptation of Miss Austen's classic and much-loved novel, look no further. The outfits and settings are meticulously researched and brilliantly executed, and each of the actors fits their role to perfection. Some people might wonder how Susannah Harker's Jane can be considered prettier than Jennifer Ehle's Lizzy, but to the Regency standards Harker would have been the classic beauty with her blond locks and blue eyes, and dark hair and eyes would be considered inferior to that, regardless of Ehle's livelier features. It is attention to details like that which makes it the sumptuous Regency fest that it is. A gorgeously brooding Mr Darcy, smiley and bouncy Mr Bingley, delightfully bright and mischievous Lizzy, quiet, kind-hearted Jane, hilariously obnoxious Mrs Bennet, witty Mr Bennet, amusingly stupid and servile Mr Collins, pretty but completely empty-headed Lydia (a brilliant performance by Julia Sawalha) and bulldog-like Lady Catherine de Bourgh are just some of the highlights of this series. A must-have for all true Austen fans.
