Review

Written and directed by Sacha Bennett, Tuesday is a fast-moving, London-set heist story in which nothing is what it seems.

By sheer coincidence four experienced criminals, two beautiful bank clerks and one desperate, penniless man nearing retirement decide to rob the same bank on the same day. Two detectives (Kevin McNally and Dylan Brown) must use their interrogative expertise to piece together seemingly unrelated people and clues to determine who really stole the Meidan-i-Noor - an emerald the size of a fist.

Ingeniously plotted and featuring an all-star cast of British talent that includes fast-rising star Ashley Waters (Bullet Boy, Speedracer), the film pulls off a major coup in reuniting Life On Mars co-stars John Simm and Philip Glenister. The duo ditch their TV police personas to feature as the head of a ring of audacious career criminals.

...so I can't really comment on the quality. It's the type of film you'd find on BBC2 at 2.30am. Low budget and confusing, but it might be good to someone who enjoys that type of movie. The story line was OK but it just dragged on a bit too long for me.

Customer rating: 2 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought!

Tuesday is just one of those 'low budget British crime crapers' that we've a few times before. Although this is Sacha Bennett's directing debut.. he pulled off this little crime caper. The good thing is, it has a few good actors. The bad thing is, the plot just runs out of steam. Well, who can blame the filmmakers.
Worth watching, but in the end.. not my cup of tea!

This is what it appears to be a very low budget "bank" job type film - quite a cleaver storyline but too obvious to work out. John Simms is hardly in it and the "chemistry" between him and Phil Glenister although still there is not used enough...I am sure this is why most would consider buying this. John's absense is also noticeable in the extras as well - not one interview!

Interesting extras do show how a cheap film is made and does show some more interesting insights than the normal hollywood tripe that is provided.

Overall a good film for what it is - Lock Stock it ain't but then I don't suppose it's trying to be...
