Academy Award winner Denzel Washington plays Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, a man who, in the prime of his boxing career, finds himself wrongfully convicted of murder. Sentenced to life in prison, Carter's published memoir, The Sixteenth Round, inspired a teenager (Vicellous Reon Shannon) from Brooklyn and three Canadian activists (Deborah Kara Unger, John Hannah, Liev Schreiber) who believed in the truth, to join forces with Carter to prove his innocence.

Watch this film just for Washington's performance. An emotional roller-coaster ride. The film doesn't have anything you haven't seen in things such as prison-break or other prison films. However, the way the film is directed is absolutely marvellous. The way you feel for the characters is unrivalled by many other films.

To conclude, if you do not feel for Washington in this film you arent human!

Watch this. wonderful and very underrated film.

 washington is the greatest

another amazin performance from washington in this sad but very true film . the hurricane is a tragic but uplifting story of a boxer wrongly accused of murder . this film has no faults what so ever apart from personnaly i would have made it 20 minutes shorter, absolutey amazing

Personally I believe that Denzel should have won his oscar for this film or John Q. An outstanding account of true life events and a film which is superb in its acting, emotion and style. It is not a film to watch over and over, but I have seen it at least a dozen times and it moves me every single time.

I can also highly recommend John Q. another Denzel masterpiece
