The fairy tale is over.

If you thought Snow White was only a fairy tale, you're about to discover the truth, but lock up your children first. The real tale of Snow White, is a tale of relentless terror and unimaginable horror. When young Lillian's mother dies during childbirth, the father soon remarries the well-intentioned Lady Claudia. However, Claudia's heart is ruled not by her husband, but by an evil mirror with the power to make Claudia Queen over all living things until they are dead.

A failed attempt to murder young Lillian leaves her wandering lost in a deep dark forest where she comes across seven dwarfs - but wait, you think you know the rest of this story? Far from it. Handsome princes and dwarfs cannot always save the day.

This movie will prove once and for all that blood is thicker than water, and evil, like an apple, comes around!

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

This dark and at times disturbing interpretation of the Snow White fairytale is possibly more faithful to its original Grimm Brothers origin than any other version made. There are no cute animals here, nor singing Princesses longing for true love, nor are their seven cute dwarves each with a name reminiscent of their personality..what we have instead are seven hardened and banished criminals with bad teeth and bad attitudes led by the late great Brian Glover...the film is an excellent dramatisation of the original dark story that was meant to frighten children. Sigourney Weaver is magnificent in her role as the seemingly kindly stepmother who also has a VERY dark side to her nature. Originally made for t.v in the United States, it debuted in the U.K on DVD in 1997. It earned itself a number of Emmy Award nominations, including a Best Actress Nomination for Sigourney Weaver. Highly recommended for anybody interested in the darker side of Grimm Fairy tales...and YES it is far too frightening for younger children!

 DEFINATELY NOT FOR YOUNG EYE'S!!

We all know the Disney classic Snow White tale and how scary that was, well prepare for some thing a lot more creepier, for example the seven lovable little dwarves are transformed into a band of murderer's and outkast's.
Sigourney Weaver take's on the role of the wicked stepmother/witch and play's it remarkabley well.(As usual.)
A fairytale definatley not for kid's!!!!

Amazingly adapted from the disney version, and could cast no-one better than Sigourney for the role of the wicked stepmother. This movie is proof that fairytales are not only for kids, but for adults too, unless you have a heart condition... you may want to avoid this one. This movie is effective because we have all seen the cartoon and we always whistle while we watch, so it comes as a shock when we turn to screaming while we watch! had this concept always been scary, it might have been a flop, but the makers have taken a childrens singing and dancing fairytale and turned it to a shocking and thrilling nightmare where the woodland creatures are more likely to devour you than clean the dishes for you. Sit back and enjoy the film, I know you will!!

 Not As I Thought!

I read the reviews on Play.com before I bought this product and having read that it was somewhat scary, I decided to purchase it. I watched it and found that it was definately not for kids, but more psychologically scray than visually. However, I don't know what other people got, but throughout most ofthe film, there was like a voice recording underneath the main film. I found this disappointing, but on the whole, it was an enjoyable film. Sigourney Weaver was a fantastic step mother!!!
