 KILLER LOOKS!!!

This in my opinion has to go down as one of the top 10 movies ever made and definately Christian Bales best. He is a Wall Street investment banker who comes across as a genuine person who is a little full of himself but deep down he is a psychopath...within his mind at least. Whilst the story is fantastically told i also enjoyed the gore scenes. Christian Bale makes this film as good as it is because of his fantastic acting skills. Enjoy

It's a favorite movie of mine. I've always been a fan of gore film genres and this really is a good example of that.

He is border line psychotic and throughout the movie and goes out in killing rampages which are quite shockingly disturbing.

His acting was very impressive, very convincing as the mentally disturbed character Patrick Bateman in which he portrays in the movie.

Overall how I would sum it up - Great acting/Violent throughout/Good storyline with a slight twist.

 He is behind you.....

I was pleasently suprised by this movie, it is actually really good!

I hadn't heard much about the film, only that there was a book in which I still have got to read. I'm a big fan of Christian Bale so I trusted my insticts and bought the film while it was on sale and I wasn't disppointed. Bale is brilliant as always and I love the story.

It's violent yet funny, entertaining yet serious. It's just, wonderful.

This is one hell of a film!
If you are fan of psycho movies or Dexter then you will enjoy this. Well worth the 4quid. One of Bale's best performances.

 Psychotically good

There's a devillish glee to this rather clever adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis's horrifically caustic novel, and it works a treat. So the film expertly depicts a hidden psycho in the corporate finance world but also pokes merciless fun at his very madness. It helps enormously that the serial killer Patrick Bateman is played by a buffed-up Christian Bale in peak form. He totally nails the dead eyes of a cold-blooded killer, living in a world where a man so relentlessly evil is barely even noticed.

 Brilliant

This movie is brilliant, the story, the deepness in the psyche of Bateman are extraordinary. The film is unsettling, its often a brilliant ride, so good that you feel uncomfortable watching it, like it real. Its fantastic.

I have to be honest i was never intrested in this film it just did'nt appeal to me but having now seen it i am glad i did.Its not quite a full blown slasher but a Thriller with comedy.
I myself was blown away by the outstanding, witty comical moments by Christian Bale.I found his dialouge was amazing, some parts are laugh out loud moments its just so funny even when vulgar.
Its got a good supporting cast and a quite strange story.i would recommend this film

good adaptation of a great book

the story itself, as well in the book as in the movie, is very convincing and intriguing: about a high class pscyhopath and sadistic serial killer, performed here -very enthousiastically- by christian bale who shows he really is a good actor. don't expect anything nice in this movie, even the nice things have only one reason: they lead to very bad things. it's not that he's playing a very lovable person, but you might get to appreciate (not 'like') what he does... in his mind he's only defending himself from the stupidity and ignorance of other people, and how.

 Seriously Recommend

Seriously, after seeing this, there isnt a shadow of a doubt, that this is Christian Bale's best performace, for not only did he chill me to the bone, but he made me laugh out loud at other times. If you liked the book, then fans of the book won't be dissapointed. A very disturbing watch and a controversial film, but well worth investing in it.

So Extraordinary.. It's Definitely Hip To Be Square! End of!

I had been waiting such a long time to see American Psycho and a couple of months ago, I finally got round to watching it. When it was over I did not quite know what to say or think about the film. It was not that I did not enjoy it, I was not 100% sure what to expect in the first place. I decided to see it again and I am very glad that I did, because I absolutely loved it! I believe it was something to do with the fact that I already knew the storyline and what to expect from it. The first time I saw it I was a little confused and disappointed by the last scene, but the second time I realized that it is almost one of those stories that has many possible endings, depending on how the viewers look at it. The audience can make up for the ending for themselves, and that made me adore the whole movie even more! I could not stop myself from laughing in many of the scenes and I was thoroughly gripped throughout. I have no complaints about the movie what so ever and the length of the feature is not too long or short.
I do not recommend this black comedy and thriller movie to everyone, certainly not to people of a young age and it is not one to watch with the family, as it gets a bit inappropriate in some places. I also suggest that if you do watch this movie, it should be watched more than once.

The Story:
Based on the acclaimed novel, this hell of a story tells of a young, well to do guy called Patrick Bateman (played fantastically by Christian Bale, who gives a powerhouse performance, and I must say that he plays this character with no faults in the least). Patrick is a well educated, intelligent and very handsome man. He is twenty-seven years of age, engaged to a rich, beautiful woman, and is living his own American dream. He works on Wall Street by day, earning a huge fortune to complement the one he was born with. As his life progresses his strong hatred for the world becomes more and more intense. Patrick's nights are soon spent in ways impossible to fathom. He descends into total madness as he experiments with fear and horrible violence. The brilliant Christian Bale plays this soul-less, purely obsessed with detail, modern monster whose zealous materialism and piercing envy fuels his homicidal activities!

American Psycho is stunning in every way and is both a great story and a terrific, yet twisted film. I have not yet read the book (Written by Bret Easton Ellis) but I will in the future, for this utterly compelling movie (directed extremely well by Mary Harron) has defiantly had a big and positive impact on me.
The entire cast, such as Chloe Sevigny, Willem Dafoe, Reese Witherspoon, Jared Leto, Matt Ross, Josh Lucas, Samantha Mathis, Chloe Sevigny, William Sage, Cara Seymour, Guinevere Turnergive and Justin Theroux deliver really impressive performances, but I have to say that it is Christian who completely steals the movie as the mentally insane killer. His portrayal of the obsessional, unlikeable psychopath is unbelievably convincing and I am rather pleased that he got so much great praise for his amazing acting in this fabulous movie. His best ever work, for sure and his part in the film positively proves that he is one rare, magnificent actor.
The costumes and make-up in American Psycho are totally dazzling and gorgeous. The script is spot on and the soundtrack also is top class, there are some real hit classics and really catchy tunes.
This clever, fresh, slick, intense, funny and captivating film is a classic and is hugely entertaining as a good horror and dark comedy.
The Special Features are worth a watch, the deleted scenes are truly good and the cast interviews are very interesting.
I was blown away. It gets two thumbs up, enjoy this masterpiece of a movie!
